First, objects that give of light is called a luminous object. luminous objects help us see because with no light it is hard to see and with light we can see clearly.
Second, light can go through transparent objects. Transparent means see through some transparent objects are windows, clear plastic, glasses, and more.
Lastly, if light shines on opaque objects it creates a shadow. Opaque means objects that light cannot go through some opaque objects are trees, a field, and even you! If there's no light no sight, so keep some light around if you need it.

In the Science Behind Sight it sayes that it is hard to see in the dark because no light is going in to your eyes and everything looks black. It is easy to see when it is light out because light enters your pupil so you can see. Other things that give off light that is not the sun are lamps, a tv and a phone. Those things are luminous. Your eyelids clean dust off of your eye and it puts tears on your eye. The tears leaves though a tiny tube called a tear duct that is beside your eye. Your eye sees the image upside down then the brain flips it the right way up. If your nearsighted or farsighted you use glasses. Glasses bend light so it goes on the pupil the correct way and that is called refraction. That is my summary on the Science Behind Sight By Brayden Berube

Try opening a window the light from outside in day or night will help you. Since light passes through clear glass it lights up a room.

You could use other things too like a lamp. A lamp gives off light so you you can see. A lamp is a luminous item meaning it gives off light. For example: a flashlight, fire, tv their all luminous. Things that reflect light or are luminous allow us to see in day or night.

Have you ever wondered where shadows come from. Shadows come from anything that light hits and doesn't go through. Things that don't let light through are opaque. Opaque mean not transparent. when light hits non clear objects it creates a shadow the shape of the opaque object.

First off the one thing that you need to see is light... well you don't need it but more light is more sight. They also help us do a lot of things like how far things are, color and more. There are some other things like luminous these things give off light, also things that are see through are transparent, and there is one more and that is opaque so if something is opaque it is not see through, but most things are not any of those, most things reflect light. If some thing is luminous it illuminates the room

Did you know luminous objects travels in straight lines. This light can move through clear things such as air, water, and glass. Most things are not luminous like tables, chairs, soccer ball. These things reflect light instead.

We see things around us when we are in light. You can't see well in the dark. Things like laptops are luminous, because the give off light. Some things aren't luminous like tables and chairs, instead they reflect it. Light bounces off the surfaces and the light goes to our eyes. Light can reflect better on shiny things like, mirrors. Our pupil,( the black spot in the middle of your eye) helps us see, by letting light in. Also in bright light your eye needs less light so your pupil is smaller, in low light you pupil is bigger to take in more light. The lens in your eye sees something then the retina sees the image and the image is upside down so the eyeball turns it right side up.

You are reading these words. The only way you can read these words is with your eyes. There are a lot of things that go into seeing things. You may not feel it but when you go into a dark room with the lights off your pupil gets bigger. Your pupil gets bigger so it can get in more light. When you wake up in the morning and someone turns on the light your pupil gets smaller because it does not need as much light as in a dark room. Did you know that you see things upside down. The brain reverses it to look right side up. Light helps us see if you walk into a room with the lights off things look black because there is no light to help us see. Things that give off light like the sun are luminous. Thing that stop light from getting in are opaque. Things that light can pass through like a glass window are transparent. When you look at things far away, the lens in your eye changes its shape to really thicker when you look at things that are near it becomes thinner Animals that hunt like lions have eyes on the front of their head. Animals that get hunted have eyes on the sides of their head. So that's the Science Behind Sight.

Sight is very important, if you think about it. Your pupil needs light for you to see. Light from the sun helps to see the day. When its dark its hard to see. Your eyes helps us see shapes and colors. When you close your curtains, light does not show. They dont because there opque. The captions and details in the story tell us information. They also help us understand what its talking about.Look at your windows, there transparent glass that light can shine through. Did you know you can bend light? Well you can! Its called refraction. If you have glasses, the lenses on them bend light to focus on the retina. When your out in the sun your pupil collects light. Your pupil gets bigger. You dont relize it though. You have eye lids to protect your eyes. When you close your eyes, it washes the surface of the eye with tears. Thats how the eye and light works!

The Science Behind Sight tells you so many facts about sight, but these are very important facts that you need to know about sight.
The first most important fact about sight is that the pupil always get smaller when there is a lot of light coming into your eye and when there is little light coming through your eye your pupil gets bigger. Another important fact is that when you look at something it is really upside down but your brain turns it back around to make it look the way it is right know. When you see things that are clear they are transparent, that means that you can see through it. If you were wondering what the colored part in your eye is that is called the iris. Before I didn't even know this. The things that reflect are tables, chairs, soccer balls, and felids. Very small light illuminates a small area so if you wanted to light up a room I would rather not to use a candle. When you blink the tear duct washes your eye when you blink, if you have something in your eye the tear duct washes it away. These are some of the most important facts about your eye and sight.

Here are some of the things I wrote down. With one eye you won't see that well. In bright light your eyes can get smaller because your eyes don't need that much light if your in bright light. In low light your eyes get bigger because they will need as much light so you can see around better. Your eyes absorb as much light as possible if it is dark or at least pitch black. We have five senses to help us understand our world sight, smell, touch, hearing, and taste. Sight is very important. It shows us sizes, shapes, signs, words, and color. It also tells us where we are going or how far away things are. It helps us read, play, learn, watch things, and more! Those are some things I wrote down for Science Behind Sight.

If your in bright light your pupils get smaller it lets in less light. In low light your pupils get bigger it lets in as much light as possible. If your room is dark you open your curtains or turn on a lamp so it illuminates the room. If you want light if the power goes out you find a flashlight or light a candle. those are examples of things that illuminate the room. If you have a mirror in your room or the bathroom. When you brush your teeth in the morning or in the afternoon you look in the mirror. You turn the light on, sometimes the mirror reflects the light from the lamp or a ceiling light it blinds you. The retina is upside down. So, technicality we are upside down. That was the summary for The Science Behind Sight.

In the story The Science Behind Sight they talk about many type of eyes and how they work. Here are some things about our eyes and how they work with sunlight. When there is sunlight we can see because the windows in the room let sunlight come in that is called transparent. Another thing is that if there is no windows in the room that you may be in it is dark because there is no light so it's opaque because of the walls. We can also see colors because of light. Cat's eyes get really narrow more narrow than ours so it can take in less light so their pupil does not get hurt by too much light. Those were my fun facts about light and eyes.

Did you know that when you blink the surface of your eye gets washed? It washes dust and other small things out of your eye.The tears leave thru a small pipe called the tear duct. You have a part in your eye called the retina it turns things right side up very quickly so that everything looks normal.Your eye will get bigger when it is dark because it is trying to let in as much light as possible so that you can see.Your eye gets smaller when it is light so that it doesnt let in as much light so that you don't go blind. The black part in your eye is called the pupil. The pupil is a black spot in your eye that is actually a hole in your eye.You have a clear thing over your eye so that thing don't get inside of your head.

Light helps us see on a daily base. If we didn't have light we wouldn't be able to see as well. Luminous objects give off light and light helps us see. If we didn't have luminous objects like the sun we wouldn't see the light of day. The sun is a luminous object. And luminous objects change the size of our pupils. If there is not a lot of light our pupils get bigger. If there is a lot of light our pupils get smaller depending on the brightness. When it is dark out we use luminous objects to help us see in the dark. Luminous objects make it so we can see more clearer if we didn't have luminous objects it might be harder to judge how far away something is because we can't see that well in the dark. Now you know all about the science behind sight

   THE SCIENCE BEHIND SIGHT

Did you know that your eyes are really cool in the dark? Your pupils can change their size in bright or dark light. Isn't that cool! The eyes give your brain two diffrent images and your brain has to figure out what you are looking at, and the brain has to move the images up right because they are upside down. Your five sciences can also help you figure out where you are, sight, touch, smell, taste, and hearing.
Did you know that luminous things actually give you light? The sun, a lamp, and a flashlight are all examples of luminous objects. If something is transparent then it stops light from going through it. If something is reflecting that means that light bounces off of it. That's what is behind the science of sight.

We have five senses to help us understand our world- hearing, touching, smelling, tasting, and sight. Our pupils change size in different lighting. For example,-when it is dark, we can not see as well as when it is light. Cat's can see when it is dark, their pupils open wide to let in as very little light as possible. Now let's talk about luminous, transparent, and opaque. Everything that is opaque does not let through light and everything that is clear is transparent. Things that give off light are luminous, a candle, a light bulb, the sun, and much more. Light from luminous objects travels in straight lines. An interesting fact about Water Buffalos is that they can spot things moving on all sides. If there is prey on either sides of them, in front of them or behind them they can spot the prey and attack. There are many facts about the sense sight. Those are most of the facts from the book, The Science Behind Sight, by Louise Spilsbury.

We need light to see, In the day we use sunlight to see. The reason why we need light to see is that any surface that can reflect light we can see because our eyes depend on light and some of the reflected light enters our eyes. There is also luminous objects that give off light around their surroundings, like the sun. Also how does light go into our eyes? We have an opening in our eyes that is called the pupil it changes size depending on how much light there is. If there's a lot of light your pupils get smaller if its low light your pupils get bigger. Now let's talk about how we know what we see. First the lens changes how thick it is depending how close the object is if its close the lens gets thinner if is far away the lens get thicker. Next the retina focuses on the image and its upside down. Then the image is sent via optic nerve and the brain flips it around. That's why we need light to see.

The pupil is one of the things you use to see everyday. What the pupils does is fascinating. Your pupils let light in your eye so you can see. More light more sight but in low light it's way different. When your in a dark room your pupils become bigger. So in a room where the light in bright your pupils become smaller. Here's a way you can see your pupils get smaller. first go to a mirror and stare at your pupils. close your eye for five to six seconds. then look at your pupil fast. But don't leave cause there's always more. Now let's talk about the tear duct. What there tear duct does it that tears come out and clean your eye. Is that cool. When the tears are done the tears leave you eye by your tear duct. Remember your eyes blink fast. So your tears clean fast. So that's some information about your eye.
