What got me thinking was how young people start appreciating their culture after they have been in contact with a foreign culture, because it validates their own culture. Other points that I had never thought about were the terms "national" and "international" and that the reason behind xenophobic tendencies and right-wing ideas being on the rise nowadays might be that change is so rapid due to the Internet that people can't keep up as they are naturally afraid of change and the unknown.

I found the idea very interesting that I must/should first develop my own identity in order to then be able to build a broader identity. That with all this multiculturalism, it is important to know your own identity and to recognize it as important.
