''achebe realizes that mister johnson was just one in a long line of books written by westerns that presented africans to the world in a way that africans did not agree with'' which lead to achebe writing his own novel. this shows achebe felt so strongly about how they mispotrayed the igbo people and there culture that he did the research and wrote a whole novel.
