For my final major project I have decided to tell a story about bereavement because a week before I finished year 11 for sixth form a friend of mine died and the year before that my grandmother died shortly after I had seen her for the first time in sixteen years which was a surprise as I thought she had already died. Since she had dementia she didn't recgonise me, she had mistaken me for my older sister.

I wasn't able to go to their funerals to say goodbye to them like everyone else because mom thought I was too young and wouldn't be able to handle it.

When my friend died I started comfort eating which had lead me to becoming obese which I'm still working off now.

I started to keep myself distant from my peers because I was afraid that if I got too attached to them it would make it worse when I loose them. Then a friend that used to be in my class invited me into a drama club to try and help me rebuild my social life. It was good as it helped cheer myself up and get along with people again.

I didn't do it last year because the death of my friend was still kind of raw to me so I had decided to use it for designing a manga cover and title page like my tutor suggested.

Mediums I am interested in
Digital which is what manga and anime are made from usually.
Hand drawn animation like what Disney used to use and what the creator of Simon's Cat still uses.
Painting with acrylic and water colour

Woow. Very personal project which can help you to be motivated. Great idea, I like the fact that you are doing manga as you are good at it and is also different!

Mission: I know that all this was very hard for you but I would like to see something that has a bright side as well! <3
