My class went on a hike at wilsons prom and two natural or human induced changes that occured when we went on the hike were flood and drought. Flood is when there is heavy rainfall and there is no place for the water to go so it stays there at the area and take a while to evaporate and go away. This occured when one of the groups were stayig at little waterloo bay and it started to rain very heavy and the water didnt go anywhere, some tents started to fill up with water and some things owned by the group started to flot away. As this didnt happen to my group i could only imagine that it would make them think about where they want to set up there tents just incase that did happen again. Drought also occurred on this camp as we were informed before we went that there was no water at oberon bay and couldnt fill up our water bottles for the hike we had the next day. Drought is when there has been little to no rainfall which means that there is not enough water for everyone including animals and human. This changed my experience as i had to think about how water i need to bring with me on the camp and that i needed to save anough water for that day so i didnt run out of water and got dehydrated.

One vocational pathway that i researched this term was park ranger which is someone that takes care of the land and makes sure that there is nothing there that could damage it and help do things to the environment to help prevent bad things from happening. Another vocational pathway i have researched is tour guiding which is when someone shows and explains the outdoor environment to people who want to know more about it and want to be educated abbout the history if this land. comparing the two vocational pathways they both are to do woth the outdoors but one is more about taking care about the land and help manage it whereas the other pathway is more about showing people the outdoors and teaching them thongs about it.

Having a layering system is very important when it comes to snow days. First off you should have your base layer which is normally thermals, then you should have your mid layer which typically is wool jumpers and lastly you have your outer layer with is they layer that keeps you dry so your clothes dont get soked from the snow. It is important to make sure you have all you layers because you dont want to get hyperthermia and it helps you stay dry.

it is important for recreational user to understand the outdoor environments they are about to go to so they know what to pack from when they go to the area and know what to do when they go to the area. For example, i had to research about the alpine which helped me know how to layer for the snow, what i would have access to for food so i knew what to buy and i learnt about the alpine responcibility code so i knew what to do on the slopes and what not to do.

The first image is showing us an example of a bluebird at the alpine areas, a risk that can occur when it is a bluebird is that they snow could start to melt and become very slipery which could cause you to injur yourself or even people around you because it gets hard to control yourself. A way to migrate this risk would be to wait for the weather to get colder so the water could harden again or just pack up for the day and try again tomorrow.

The seccond image is showing us an example of a whiteout condition which could cause serious harm to yourself or others as you can not see what or who is infront of you which is very dangerous as your could run into someone. A way to avoid that risk would be to wait inside the village and wait for the whiteout to pass of you could find another slope that isnt bad and enjoy your day there.

The friend could get hyperthermia becuae they dont have the right layers on and as they could have underestimate the cold weather or just didnt believe they needed that many layers.
You would check if the friend is still concous, call your teacher to let them know about the situation or you could use the mount buller app to call for help, you would then take them off the slopes and get rid of all the cold and wet clothes and get them dressed in nice warm clothes and sit next to the fire, sometimes tell them to take a nice warm shower or bath depending what you have avaliable.
To avoid this from happening you could check the weather forcast to see what the weather would be like. make sure you do your research about the alpine and know how to layer properly so this doesnt happen.
