Who has the power?

Over the centuries it has been different. The leading country now a days is of course the United States We are the true power house of the world. We control most of what goes down on a daily basis. Yes we do not have our hands in every spot but we are involved in every situation that could have a defining affect on the world. Currently, we are trying our best to keep the peace. Yes we have large weaponry such as nuclear warheads and things of that nature but we do not have grand plans of taking over the world. We are not a world dominating country that wants to be the one and only super power forever. Yes, we like having the most power now but our goal is not to wipe out other countries but the live in harmony with them. We see peace and cooperation only from other countries.

Westernizing Iranians

After World War II the united states had a very close and intimate relationship with Iran. It only took them a couple of decades before the relationship became "schizophrenic" as the article started. Westernizing Iranians was just not possible. There code and religion was too tight to break. The societies were too different and began to clash. There was too much old tradition that could not mesh with the new westernization. Shiites saw westernization as desecrating to the the religion. Shariah law was a specific set of rules and guidelines that did not allow for anything to intercede with it. Not only would it not mess but westernizing involved almost throwing out the whole religion altogether. This only worked for a small minority of the people but most Shiites wanted to return to the Muslim religion and to the Shariah law. it was too much change too fast. When you are brought up in a strong religion that is very involved in your daily life, it is not easy to move away from.

Iran- Anti-American & Anti-Isreal

For the past 40 years Iran has been under harsh autocratic rule that stands by a religion that promotes Anti-Americanism and Anti-Israel-ism. Iran has been building up their nuclear arsenal/weaponry for years now. They deny that this is what they have been up to but the United States has found out otherwise. The true intent is somewhat obvious but the target is still unclear though is has become more l clear in recent years. Their true enemy is Israel over anyone else. The United States is in close second because we are one of the only supporters that Israel has left. Iran knows that we are much to big to go up against first. why not take over Israel and use their nuclear arsenal to attack the united states. Their organizations are too small and unorganized to truly get revenge.

Can The Relationships Be Restored?

First the Israel Iran feud needs to settle settle down for their to be any type of progress. The United states has had to step i and be the mediator for most of their large scale threats. We have had to convince both sides to not attack each others nuclear arsenals. That could cause genocides and then of course spark up unnecessary war over weaponry. Can the relationship be restored with Iran making foreign policy an easier effort in the Middle East? That has been hard in the past for the United States because of how we have had to get involved in Iraq and Afghanistan. These are areas Iran was trying to spread to and we have hindered that with our military intervention.

What Type Of Foreign Policy Would Be Most Effective?

A lot of politicians think that there should be a harsh foreign policy on Iran with more of a military interaction. It forces us to try and bully Iran into a working relationship. One were we meet the demands of both countries and come to an acceptable compromise. This will allow us control over Iran and enable us to work with Iran and Israel to better their relationship. We could then get them away from the threats on each other and discount the need for nuclear weaponry. If we are able to convince them that they are under our wing then we can disarm them permanently or of course until their next overthrow of government. This will also enable the United States to maintain its super power status by not taking over and controlling the world but instead enable peace and cooperation among nations.
