I get to see the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge on my way to my school, the University of California, Berkeley, every day, and it looks spectacular. Just riding across this beautiful structure never gets old. It’s a feat of engineering and a symbol of resilience, draped in the signature International Orange that seems to capture the morning’s and evening’s first rays of sun.

I cross a bridge where I take in sweeping views of the bay and the city skyline each day serve as reminders of why this place feels so special. It’s a moment of reflection and gratitude, the ideal beginning and closing for my hectic days at university. Whether cloak-eyed in fog or sparkling against a clear blue sky, the Golden Gate always adds a bit of magic to my routine. 🚗💨

#GoldenGateBridge #DailyCommute #UCBerkeley #SanFrancisco

It has been exciting to leave the colorful seasons of Michigan for the golden coasts of California. Each state has its own way of captivating me, so they are both places I adore.

I've always considered Michigan, with its beautiful Great Lakes, a home away from home for me. The season transformation is literally picture perfect and is incredibly beautiful — from the cool colorful autumns to the icy winter, snowy valleys. It’s where I learned to love nature in all its breadth, and where my roots grow long.

Now in California, the eternal summer vibe, ever-changing topography and vibrant cities provide vast terrain for exploration. The ability to spend a day at the beach, hike through the redwoods or explore the desert is just amazing. The culture is vibrant, the innovation lovely, it is truly a place where dreams grow.

Even though my blood now beats with the tempo of California breezes, the soft, low hues of Michigan sunsets and the crackle of a warm winter fireside are still beloved notes in my inner symphony. Both states have made me who I am today and contribute to my life in various ways. 🌲🌞

One of the most thrilling parts of my weekends is when I take my 4x4 off-roading in the mountains of Northern California. The rugged ground here is a perfect playground for adventure lovers like me.

Northern California’s disparate terrain means that no two rides are ever the same, and there’s always another rural trail to master, another hidden view to uncover. Whatever it may be, here's to more muddy tracks, steep ascents, and all of that merciful 4x4 off-roading joy! 🌲🏔️

One of my favorite outdoor activities is to escape into the wilds of California on hunting and fishing trips. Helped by knowledgeable locals, these trips are as much about the chase, or the catch, as they are about the instruction from locals who know these lands and waters best.
