Yves Saint Laurent was born in Algeria on August 1st, 1936. Laurent was bullied in school and used fashion as a way to cope with his emotions. In 1953, he won a competition competing against numerous other fashion designers. After collecting his reward in Paris, he met the chief and editor of Vogue, Michel De Brunhoff. Brunhoff encouraged him to go to fashion school. Soon after he moved to Paris and started school, Laurent brought Brunhoff sketches that looked similar to Dior. Brunhoff later showed Dior the designs and this caught his attention. In 1957, after Dior died, Laurent became creative designer at the age of 21. Three years later, he was drafted and fired from Dior. During this time he still worked on his designs with his partner Pierre Bergé. Laurent broke gender rules and made one of his famous designs, a tuxedo for women. He often used the androgynous aesthetic for his designs. Laurent retired on January 7th, 2002 after making the decision he no longer agreed with the future of the fashion world. In 2008, on June 1st, Laurent died from brain cancer.

Looking at the designs YSL made, I saw that he likes to use vibrant colors and work with different textures. YSL isn’t afraid of putting bright colors together and often balances them out in his designs. This is why I chose something like the crocodile skin. Although his designs are eye-catching, he also keeps it simplistic and elegant. That is the reason why I chose something like silk.

My cilent is someone who likes to be comfortable but still feel confident in their clothes. This client also doesn't like the hoods that normal hoodies have, instead they prefer a more unique looking hoodie.

We want people to feel stylish and nice. This person can feel warm and like it can go with anything. I would pick calm, nice, tall, rare, and hip. The hoodie would be classic M&M's. It's something classic and a choice everyone likes. It also comes in many colors and is often a comfort candy.

I picked this image because the shape reminds me the shape of the hoodie and the feeling of the person in the picture reminds me of the feeling I get when I wear a hoodie. Also the black color is the same color that we're working with and making it a unique shape.
