Now that we know that Sudan and South Sudan have a history of conflict, in their countries and with each other, let's discuss the other problems facing these countries. Let's start with Sudan and the problems this country has and will face.
In 2015, the government of Sudan carried out serious attacks against the civilians. Widespread killings, destruction of the civilians' property during the conflicts in Darfur, South Kordofan, and Blue Nile states. The authorities also restricted civil society and independent media.

Now, other than the conflict and bloodshed, Sudan also has ecological issues such as water scarcity and desertification. Water scarcity here is due to the Sahara desert and the Sahel desert go through Sudan. Water scarcity is very situation bad due to the fact the 80% of the country's people are in agriculture. The women and children must go long distances to get water, which is not fair to them.

We have seen the problems for Sudan. Now, let's take a look at it's southern counterpart. In this, we will explore the civil war , ecological issues, and other things.
South Sudan secured it's independents, and a place as the youngest country in world, in 2011. After the brutal civil war that left 2.5 million people dead, They broke free and became South Sudan. But despite the fresh start, South Sudan was deeply vulnerable to conflict after corruption, political instability, SPLM (Sudan Peoples Liberation Movement), and tensions with Sudan due to the shared oil revenues.

On the 15th of December in 2013, tensions between two factions (ones loyal to the president Salva Kiir of the Dinka ethnic group and those who stood by the former Vice president Riek Machar of the Nuer ethnic group) erupted into fighting in the streets of the capital city, also known as Juba. The fighting was caused by the president accusing the vice president. This dramatic return to war has left thousands of people in South Sudan dead and torn apart communities. In September of 2014, 1.8 million people were still too afraid to return home. 3.1 million people had had humanitarian help, but there were still millions more people who needed help.

In South Sudan, on top of the war and bloodshed, there's also an HIV/AIDs problem. Currently, there are 110,000 - 240,000 people living with HIV and there have been 12,000 due to AIDs. As a result, there have been 100,000 orphans due to said deaths.

If I were a leader of Sudan, I would stop the fighting and focus on the water crisis. The water issue is much more important than any war, fighting, or conflict going on in the country. If Sudan can get their act together and work on solving the water crisis, there could be enough extra food for people to sell and make more money.

The people of South Sudan need to understand the war will hurt them. they are a new, young country and they have gotten off to a bad start. I would make peace deals and work on making sure that South Sudan has a bright future, a stable economy, and that people had places to live and ways to make money. If this country has any hope of being able to have a bright out look, they need to work on ending the fighting.
