Many students in this class started Cegep during Covid and do not want to use Teams anymore.

The moodle app is fairly easy to use (if students are comfortable downloading it)

Both myself and students are familiar with discussion boards. Students have previously taken an intro web design course and thus Moodle tools should be fairly intuitive

Mentimeter slides are fairly straight-forward for anyone who has used PowerPoint or Slides. Students follow instructions on screen. I tested this in class and students found the platform simple to follow.

Students and myself are already familiar with Teams and are comfortable using it.

Students do not an account. Free teacher account allows up to 50 participants per month, which is enough for my small class size.

JAC subscriptions allow students and teachers to use Moodle freely.

There are more customizable options with Moodle than with Teams - especially if you don't mind implementing a little bit of HTML.

The writing takes away from actual discussion and thus there is not time necessarily to expand on all the interesting responses.
