My previous knowledge about the island was that there were large head statues that are in the ground, but I did not know that they had an actual name which is Moai. I knew that Easter Island was a relatively small island, but I did not know that the island itself is several miles away from land, so when you look out all you see is the ocean. I did not know that there were conspiracy theories about how the Moais were moved because of how heavy they were and people believe that there is no possible humans could have moved something so heavy.
