His view on reconstruction was that there is no such thing as reconstruction and that the states are still a union. Andrew Johnson was from the south so he believed in the southerners' thoughts more than the northern. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>On April 15, 1865 President Abraham Lincoln was shot in the back of the head by John Wilkes Booth while attending a theatre play. He was then taken across the street where he passed away. Abraham Lincoln proposed a reconstruction program that allowed the Confederate to establish new state governments but had 10% of their male population take a loyalty oath.</div>]]></description>
