Students read the first chapter and did not like the storyline. They felt that the main character becoming a genius after being struck by lightening is cool, but it became boring because the main character was so obsessed with germs and numbers.

This story has been a great read so far. This about biracial brothers and one of the brothers is treated differently. I like this novel because the sport of choice is fencing which is not your sterotypical sport for people of color.

It is about a young Chinese female who is culturally wants to go against the norms of the culture. She does not want to be confined to just "being a wife" and serving the male. She wants to venture out and explore the world.

Donte is feeling angry and sad resulting in him feeling powerless no matter how well he behaves. Lastly, based on his emotional state setting up Donte to find strength, justice, and self-worth.

I am enjoying this book on a daily because I am learning so much more about me. Joel teaches how it is important to speak what you see until you see what you have said. Death and life are in the power of the tongue. I choose to speak life in others and my own ear gate.
