Self-care/personal needs - natural routine with peers and/or extra-curricular context would be washing hands after using the restroom or dressing yourself (buttoning or zipping pants, fastening belt) after using the restroom

Clean-up skills - throwing your lunch trash or snack trash away after eating, putting tray in the appropriate place, and making sure no trash or food is left on the table

Safety - any type of drill that the school participates in such as a fire drill, tornado, etc. This can also be taught during recess such as not climbing up the slide when others are going down it, not standing under the monkey bars when someone is going across, and staying out of the way when someone is swinging

Time telling/time management - natural progression of how the day moves along from one subject to the next or to a different activity such as lunch or recess. Having a posted schedule for the class, hearing the bell ring to know it is time to change classes or activities.

Leisure/recreation skills - playing with class during recess or participating during related arts (or specials) since there is social interaction and social rules to follow and learn such as taking turns, how to communicate to each other, playing with others by being respectful

Basic food prep and eating:
As a teacher attempting to teach this skill, I would teach incorporate

Under the goal area of Eating and food preparation at the kindergarten (age 5) range. This is a good age to start the beginning phases of this skill and cultivate learning. I would also include it in the area of general shopping and grocery shopping, where I would begin to model and show basic food prep skills. Ex: I would model the behavior I want displayed followed by engaging them to repeat the skill I modeled through repetition. This is a building skill depending on the need level of the student

2. This is a good age to start the beginning phases of this skill and cultivate learning throughout childhood up into early adulthood through modeling and repetition depending on the need of the students. This is also be incorporated in the household maintenance setting, classroom/school job and community-based work experiences. I would model desired behavior and continue building on the skill. Depending on the need of the student. Ex. Perhaps through cues, assistive technology if deemed necessary I would utilize an inclusive eclectic approach with this skill

3. Telephone use:

The goal area I would utilize it would start in the Using services. Between the ages of 6-8, I would introduce proper utilization of a phone. Talk about the benefits of communicating and dialing(teaching 911) at the kindergarten age through primary age. I would also incorporate mailing letters as a technique for communication. I would first model the behavior through an eclectic style depending on the need, encourage the parent to model the same behaviors through prompting cues etc… and utilize this skill in a regimented manner across settings.

4. Money skills/time management:

Primarily the goal of time management skills would be introduced in middle school ages 12-14. But you could start utilizing time management, plan, and gathering money starting in Kindergarten ( age 5),Primary grades (6-8), Intermediate grades (9-11). Creating a foundation at the earlier stages.

5.
