The best way to show my creativity throughout this project is to create a Padlet. I have been having a lot of fun collecting my learning and creating padlets out of them. Padlets come in all sorts of formats so having the freedom to be creative and upload links, pictures, findings, and questions that I need to be prepared to integrate Indigenous experiences in a social studies elementary classroom. Padlets are also very organized in my opinion, I am able to color coordinate items which would be useful when creating the categories of information as well as for myself to well understand and manage when referencing back to it later in the future.

The reason for these categories is because culture and tradition is a big part of social studies and learning about certain topics. I learned so much about certain languages spoken and values. Past and present refers to more information dates and key terms. Resistance and progress will mention findings on topics concerning protests, the Tainos resistance movement, and past or current events that are still contributing to today’s society. This could be similar to past and present but there are certain factors that distinguish both categories like one being more of a vocabulary term based category and one being movements and learnings of wars and resistance throughout the timeline. Books are the last small category. As an elementary teacher I believe it is important to acknowledge the books that will help me and my students learn social studies. There are so many informational books on culture, tribes, lifestyle, and more. This last category serves as my extra teacher toolbox for my future library.
