Alikhanov was born on 27.July 1988 in Yekaterinburg, at the age of seven his family moved to the city of Qusar in Azerbaijan. Timur became acquainted with judo from early childhood as he said: "I was in third class when older dudes called me on judo training and I liked it”. At the age of twelve he decided to drop out of school and go to Baku to study in Azerbaijan National Academy of Physical Culture and Sport. Timur’s childhood mostly influenced his trainer and father, they both had strict and demanding characters but  that motivated him to train and win. Since 2009 he is living in Estonia Kohtla-Järve with his wife and 2 children. In 2013 Timur endee his sportsmen career and started to train wrestling to children and teens.

Why Is he a hero? 

I decided to choose him because he is not only our wrestling coach but also a mental guru and friend. I know that there are some articles about him, but they are describing his achievements and him as a judoka, but none is about him as a trainer. He is sympathetic and good-natured and he also teach us to be same. 

Maris Toomel is known among us as the mayor of Jõhvi and she is also a manager of Estonian Reform Party in Ida-Virumaa. In her free time Maris is teaching Russian people Estonian. She's also a mother to 2 daughters and married to Taivo Toomel for 12 years. She lives in Kabelimetsa which is a very nature rich place.

EDUCATION

She went to elementary school in Mäetaguse and after that she went to highschool in Jõhvi. She got her master's degree from University of Tartu. 

WHAT IS IT LIKE TO BE A MAYOR?

Maris has been a mayor for almost 2 and a half years. Maris said it's very difficult work and she needs to be very confident and brave. She has said: ,,People should consistently believe in their values and principles.”,, Every day is a new challenge, some days are harder than others but she's always prepared for that.”The job is full of responsibilities and she's extremely thankful for the trust that she's earned.

She has been part of the Estonian Reform Party for 16 years. Every 4 years there are elections, which is a very hard time for Maris. She told us that :,, You have to be in the picture all the way through the process.”

Kataryna is a professional figure skating coach in Ida-Virumaa. Her sporting life began at 4.5 years old, when Kataryna started to take her steps in figure skating. She has been involved in this wonderful sport for 16 years. Throughout her career, Kataryna has performed at All-Ukrainian competitions and at international tournaments. Like any athlete there were ups and downs. At the All-Ukrainian competition there were awards for 3rd place and 2nd place. There were also awards at international competitions.

Education

Kataryna has two degrees. 1st Academy of Physical Culture, Department of Winter Sports. 2nd Academy of Culture (specialist in modern choreography). She graduated from two academies in parallel.

Work experience in Ukraine

Kataryna has been coaching in Ukraine since she was 18 years old. At first she was an assistant coach and worked with kids. Then Kataryna had her own group, there were 5 little girls, the group developed and she got a second coach, Alexander. Alexander and Kataryna created their own figure skating club, ICE STARS, with more than 30 children. Their students performed in many cities of Ukraine and brought home many medals.

Work experience in Estonia

Kataryna arrived in Estonia in May 2022. She worked at the ICE WAY figure skating club. During her work at the ICE WAY club, her students performed both at international competitions and throughout Estonia. In April, at competitions in Tallinn, their students won all the categories in which they competed. In October 2023, Kataryna stopped working at the ICE WAY club. Currently she works at Uisuklubi Diana.

Future plans

Kataryna currently works at Uisuklubi Diana. She wants to develop figure skating in Kohtla-Jarve, to achieve new and new heights with her students.

I think that Kataryna is an unsung hero, since works in our small town. She gives an opportunity to engage in professional figure skating. She always motivates and supports her students. Her students receive high awards and fulfill their dreams.

Tannar Suislep Matievich

Born in Tallinn 25.11.1969, at the age of 2 he moved to live in Kohtla-Jarve.

In 1985 graduated from Polu Tehnikum (Now Tallinna Tehnikaülikooli Virumaa Kolledž)

1989-1991 served in the army.

In 2005 he founded his own construction company "Amatti ehitus".

He can be called a hero for founding his company. Since 2005, this small company has carried out construction work in both residential and public places in our county.

Even in our Jõhvi Gymnasium in 2019-2020, this company carried out repair work.

For me he is a hero, because this is my father and without him our family would not exist.

He was born in 1972 in a small Finnish town called Nokia. In 1989, he moved to the Estonian USSR to the city Aseri with his parents, who were miners by profession. They worked at the Aseri brick factory. When he received his education, he went to work at the Flexa furniture factory, but the factory soon went bankrupt and my father decided to follow in the footsteps of his parents.

Nowadays

At the moment, my father has been working at Eesti Energia for 16 years, he is a qualified and irreplaceable employee, he is respected by colleagues, superiors and subordinates, he always thinks about his work and puts it above all else, thanks to him and other miners we are currently using relatively cheap and accessible electrical energy and don’t even think about those who contribute to its generation.

Family life

Despite his busy work, he never forgets about his family, takes care of them, and spends his free time with them. He has a hobby that brings him not only joy, but also money; he makes custom-made wooden furniture. He is very patient and attentive to details, I think you can even call him a workaholic.
