The ocean is split into 3 layers or also known as the ocean zones, the first being called the sunlight zone, the second twilight zone, and the third being called the midnight zone these separate all the different animals between the zones, for example the great white shark lives in the sunlight zone. The main cause of this is a high demand for shark fin soup; they don’t even take the whole shark; they just cut off the fin and cast the rest of the body over. Shark fin soup actually has no flavor, no nutritional value, and even has poisonous mercury in the fin. If we were to lose great white sharks it would throw off the balance of predator to prey ratio with seabirds population rising since seabirds are prey to great white sharks the food chain would be off balance. Both are in great danger especially the great white sharks since they live in the marine biome. Great white sharks are a major part of ecosystems, marine biomes are also changing in a way that it is forcing animals to go extinct, and conservation projects are very important. It would be a shame to never see these the way they are right now and if great white sharks go extinct then it would have major damage to the marine biome, livelihoods, and the world in general. The world would not be the same without this animal and also with the way the marine biomes are changing.

One way to help sharks from going extinct would be to outlaw shark fin soup so that it would no longer be in demand for them to keep on needing to be restocked and much less sharks die from this. And how do we save the marine biome? “Many factors contribute to rising carbon dioxide levels. Currently, the burning of fossil fuels such as coal, oil and gas for human industry is one of the major causes,” another thing we can do is also lower the amount of trash dumped into the ocean too. There is definitely much more that everyone can do to help prevent the extinction of great white sharks and the change of the ocean or marine biome. If we can do this it would be a good start to changing the outcome of how we will see the ocean in the future.

The way surfers in particular look with their black wetsuit makes them look like seals which is quite sad knowing that they don’t even want to have contact with us humans. The ocean is an amazing place full of creatures many of them we probably don’t know of and we should be able to know them but if we change the ocean any bit more then there is no chance for us to find these creatures. Alongside that we need the oceans to stay the same for all the animals we do know to stay at least the way they are now.
