I also have a 70-200mm lens and a tripod. Camera takes a standard SD card.
Week 1 learning... how much I had forgotten about my camera! Revisited basic functions of camera and controls, shutter speed, focal length and lenses, formatting, charging re-chargable battery. Also looked at types of film and SD cards.
Set up Adobe Lightbox and Padlet accounts and bought card reader.
Spent time with camera manual getting to know camera settings and capability.

Spent time this week producing a range of photographs to experiment with camera controls and identify subjects to take photos of, trying to improve the quality of images I took at each attempt. 

Mindful of Health and Safety considerations whilst taking photos e.g. safety around moving traffic, keeping warm in the winter/avoiding sunburn, care around water etc.
Had previously thought it was not legal to take photos of people without consent but now understand this is not the case (however, courteous to ask) so thought more about option of taking photos of others.

Spent time in class looking at a range of images and trying to use visual language to talk about them and what we liked about them.

Aware of health and safety considerations of using display screens for long periods of time so ensuring I take a break from looking at images and editing in Lightroom - it can be quite addictive!
