         <description><![CDATA[<div>Description - negative particles floating within a soup of diffuse positive charge<br>Details - He had experiments with cathode ray tubes which showed that all atoms contain tiny negatively charged subatomic particles or electrons.<br>Conclusion - He concluded that the particles making up the rays were 1,000 times lighter than the lightest atom proving that something smaller than atoms existed.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Description - a ball-like structure<br>Detail - His experiment was based on the assumption that water contains one atom of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen and he used that assumption to calculate the relative atomic weight of hydrogen and oxygen, and other elements.  He did this by comparing the masses of compounds they formed.<br>Conclusion - He created the periodic table using the information he learned in his experiment.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Description - a miniature solar system with electrons orbiting around a massive nucleus, and as mostly empty space, with the nucleus occupying only a very small part of the atom<br>Detail - His experiment with gold foil showed that the atom is mostly empty space with a tiny, dense, positively-charged nucleus.<br>Conclusion -&nbsp;He concluded that most of the space inside is empty, there is a positive tiny part in the center which contains the whole mass of the atom, and the positive charge must be localized over a very tiny volume of the atom.</div>]]></description>
