The internet can be another way of marketing through promotional videos or ads.

This week, students get to be introduced in how to create a website using HTML codes.

Several websites can be made referenced when it comes to layout or means to communicate with my targeted audience. The site should contain information but not too lengthy paragraphs as most modern day, digital orientated people are always on the go with their busy lives. Week 3 tab will contain some website examples regards to layout and information dissemination

As my target audience is between teenagers to mid30s individuals, it is essential to keep the html website simple but still catchy through utilising interesting photos, colour layouts and short information. This organisation site of headspace effectively uses that technique to keep users engage and at the same time, give relevant information to whoever needs it.

TREATMENT:

Frame starts with group of friends (3) having conversation in a restaurant/cafe/pub (location still to be decided. Within the 20 sec time frame, it will be very noticeable that only two friends are seen in the shots having a decent conversation (shot in the perspective of the third person). The last 10 sec of the video will reveal a third person who looks socially isolated and imprisoned because of his addiction with phone use, not engaging conversation with his 2 other friends.

Final shot would just be the 3rd person all alone in the setting, continuing to use his phones as murmurs of his friends' conversation is still heard. Camera fades out to black with a brief message : 'feeling isolated? put down your phone'

Casting young people would be very beneficial for this campaign as it is relatable to a lot of teenagers and young adults as they are the primary consumers and users of digital devices.

Colour palette is a very effective guide to ensure that choice of colours in design/promo/ad are effective in different forms of media. Several media brands including Hollywood films rely on colour palette to ensure that emotions and the message are felt visually. For my promotional message, I have chosen safe yet colours of contrast to gain attention. I want the video to have a film look therefore setting the colour grading during post production and planning the locations and what the characters/models would wear are of significant factors to consider.

Salehan and Negahban argued that accessing the internet through utilization of devices like smartphones have contributed to mobile phone addictions that have contributed to social issues. Social media and networking has been the very main factor contributing to mobile phone addiction. Nowadays, it is easy to be socially isolated with just the utilisation of mobile phones whilst with friends and family members. Addiction to such devices results to personality and behaviour problems and is well associated with isolation and loneliness. Other mental and physical health issues that have raised due to smartphone addiction includes depression, insomnia, anxiety and social introversion.

This study will be relevant to the promotional video that has been conceptualised in the last few weeks so that an effective message can be sent out to teenagers and young adults when and how to properly use mobile phones to prevent social isolation.
