         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><mark>If I am the beneficiary:</mark></strong><br>1. <br>My advantage over online learning is that I am good at using electronic devices to acquire, organize and convey information.<br>2. <br>Online learning actually make my study more convenient and accessible. Time is flexible and place is not limited. We do not have to spend on transport.<br>3. <br>Online learning spares me time to do other things I would like to do, such as exercising and travelling. Besides, it offers me an opportunity to practice time-management skills and self-discipline.<br>4. <br>I may try different tools or platforms to improve my skills.<br>5. <br>Guidance and support can be provided to facilitate online learning.<br>6. <br>62% of the participants who are more satisfied with online learning see time management as one of their reasons for it. 58% of the participants are concerned with technical problems. Even among people who are for online learning, 75% are worried about it.<br><strong><mark>If I am the exploited:</mark></strong><br>1. <br>I do not know how to communicate with others efficiently and effectively without face-to-face classes.<br>2. <br>Relationship between teachers and students, and, students and students is adversely affected.<br>3. <br>Social skills cannot be fostered because there are more excuses not to socialize with others. Individuals will be further isolated.<br>4. <br>Guidance from teachers should be provided. Awards for participation can be added.<br>5. <br>Among the participants who are less satisfied with online learning, 71% of them are unsatisfied because of lack of community.<br>Reference:<br>Song, L., Singleton, E.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><mark>Typology of hazards and disasters</mark></strong><strong><br></strong>Natural:<br>- chronic (e.g. famine)<br>- instant (e.g. earthquake)<br>Man-made: <br>- intentional (e.g. war)<br>- unintentional (e.g. space accident)<br><strong><mark>Significant impact of hazards and disasters</mark></strong><br>Among all kinds of hazards and disasters, earthquakes and diseases have most direct and significant impact on me.<br>I have not encountered any severe earthquakes, but heard about Sichuan Earthquake when I was eight. That was the first time I learnt about disasters and that was very shocking. During that time, all TV programs were about the earthquake. At school, students and staff were required to mourn victims suffering from that dark memory. We knew many sad but loving stories which had happened in that disaster as well.<br>The second is Coronavirus, which I am actually witnessing. It is a global and destructive disaster. Nobody can escape from the impact of it and its adverse impact is on all aspects of life.<br>These two disasters show that unity is important and nobody can stay away from what we are experiencing. The only way to mitigate is to work together and overcome it. When encountering difficulties, we need to be united.</div>]]></description>
