Q2/3. Gorbachev's policies had backfired on the communist ideologies, as his policies were against the idea of communism as a whole. For example, the idea of communism was to close off other countries from entering or trading with locals, but Gorbachev had opened up more to the world, and allowed news from other countries to spread locally, causing Russians to see the how communism was bad for them and thus rebel against the idea itself.

It shows that they have come to terms and resolved. This can be seen as Source C shows a change from arm wrestling to aw formal handshake. This symbolises their relationship with each other-- blossoming into something "beautiful"-- in which both countries are in agreement with each other.

The "Foreign Terms Policy" allowed Gorbachev and Reagen's relationship with each other to strengthen and prosper.
