Emerald is the final girl because she confronts the aliens by tricking them into a trap eventually killing them. 
2. What rules did she break or follow? 
Unlike traditional Final Girl’s, Emerald does participate in smoking. She is less oblivious and more skillful. However, she does abstain from sex.  
3. Why is she your favorite? 
Emerald is my favorite Final Girl because she works together with her brother to save their family ranch. She is also likable and evolves from the beginning of the movie as a flakey entrepreneur to a driven, stronger individual.
