<description>Entrepreneur Dan Peate, the founder of Hixme, began his career as an assistant vice president for Aon Consulting. There, he initiated and managed small- and middle-market accounts, acted as a mentor to eight southern California sales representatives, and led overall sales for the West Region in 2004. He then spent several years in leadership positions with Arthur J. Gallagher &amp; Co. As the vice president of sales for Gallagher Benefit Services, Dan Peate oversaw the sales staff of 11 Western Region offices that accounted for annual revenue of approximately $70 million. He also guided Gallagher Equity Advisors as the managing director.

Dan Peate went on to form the venture capital firm Peate Ventures in 2009 and subsequently established the employee benefits brokerage Hixme in Agoura Hills, California. Since early 2015, he has served as Hixme’s chief marketing officer, following an initial tenure as chairman and CEO. Along with his membership on the Hixme board of directors, he sits on the boards of CardiacDirect.com and the comic book publisher Boom! Studios.

In his private life, Dan Peate has led a number of local educational and charitable institutions. He was formerly president of the board for Catholic Charities of Ventura County, as well as a board member for the Moorpark College Foundation and St. Joseph’s Health and Retirement Center. He currently serves on the St. Augustine Academy board of directors, the La Reina High School and Middle School board of trustees, and the Thomas Aquinas College board of regents.
