The irony in using religion as a justification is how the men often used it as a justification of the latter. They used it to push others beneath them and support the idea of white male superiority. This creates a common ground for understanding. The Cherokee tried to prove that they were like the white males version of America and could love the same God. Which goes to show how when one group of people are growing a white person, allowed by our government, can take away and push aside the others to benefit their own greed. Similar to what most likely happened with the black settlements. It is the spirt of America that governs and works to keep it running. However, at a point it was not the entirety of the people that it recognized, nor was it really all men that were created equal under the eyes of the government. It did not include the women that were the ones in the background, the African Americans that were subjected to slavery and worked for the profit of the slave owners, nor the native Americans that had their land stolen from them. This did not keep them from fighting to not be over looked. Women demanded for their rights and were outspoken over their lack of power, African Americans fought oppression through free blacks creating essays and having perseverance to create their own success, and Natives fought to be seen through adopting constitutions and writing to congress to keep their lands. He points out all the ways that to God slavery is inhuman as to show that if this is to be a Christian country better than Great Britain, of which they think so poorly of, they must get rid of slavery. Which would make Jackson hypocritical if he does not reject slavery as he has already written about the abolition of slavery during the Revolution. Highlighting how talk of change has only been used for political gain and in private they still treat their own slaves like animals. Similar with using the argument of the Declaration of Independence which says all men not only white men. If it were all men in America he would make it illegal for a human to be property and for all to be able to be considered a citizen.

This paper being from Portland Oregon has a view influenced by a greater opportunity of women in the northwest versus a paper written in New York. It foucused on allowing the audience to see a better future with women apart of it. It like many prior articles brings in the fact that America is hypocritical for it to be called a grand nation with prosperous freedom if only the white men are allowed to enjoy such freedom. So if they are to live up to this title they need to stop making excuses to keep women in what they believe is their place. Similarly seen with the African American population and their arguments as to why the United States should not continue to have slavery. In both it asks the men who run the government to allow place in the society for others to too be called citizens.

From knowledge from a prior article, the Cherokee had originally been recognized along with their constitution by the US government. However, after while when white men wanted the land of the Cherokee occupied they had the power to decide that the Cherokee laws no longer mattered and they could take what they wanted. Their greed separated parents and killed children many who died of whooping cough. This goes to demonstrate how often minorities in early America were allowed to be a part of the land of the free only when convenient for the white men. But when there’s no longer serve for their purposes they could revoke this privilege and take what they wanted. Leaving devastating after effects behind

It seems to justify their removal and treatment in past years by detailing how they are much happier in their new lands and it was reached in a fair agreement. This is completely absent of a native perspective and if they flirt like they had reached a fair and honest deal for being removed off land that they had built their lives on. The author talks little about how they might have felt in this deal saying that readers can trust that he believes they are happy, as if they hadn’t just been forced out after the United States decided that they wanted their land.
