This lesson with ms Gu was helpful because she taught the group about statistical analysis and how to do it. there are so many apps, blogs and websites that help people with body confidence. most are made by organisations, but i find that the most visited and the most effective are the blogs that are made by real people and updated regularly. one of the blogs that is very helpful is called ' beauty redefined' (https://beautyredefined.org). this blog was recommended to us by the speaker yesterday.  another source we came across is called 'about face',( https://www.about-face.org)  their slogan is 'don't fall for the media circus' which we think is very effective and funny. This website is run by Australian teenagers and their parents and is for teenagers.

After adding "who", "verb" and "change something", we chose the best ones out of all the options, which resulted in the phrase: " how might we design a website to teach the Year 6 girls about how to be confident with their body image. This meant that our website is going to be targeted at young girls, how are still developing, and may be having doubts about their own body image, and lack confidence in themselves. That is why, we have decided to create a website, to teach them how models on magazines are mostly photoshopped and unrealistic, while being yourselves is what is actually "pretty." Do not try to force yourself into looking the same as those barbie dolls as they are unhealthy and impossible to achieve. Drama was the first lesson of the day and started it with a few laughs and lots of fun. As a whole class we spoke about what to post on social medias and what not to post. we also talked about what would happen if you posted something you shouldn't, especially how it would effect you at school. We made and performed role plays to get this point across clearly and effectively. We also spoke about what different kinds of social medias there are and what they can be used for

In English, we learned about the impacts of social media on language. Every day, through social media, more and more new words are being created. Some of these additions to our language include abbreviations such as LOL and OMG. Even an entire new language was added: the language of emojis. These new words can go viral in minutes and are used all across the world. Day by day, with every passing moment, more and more words are constantly being added to our language.

In Humanities, we discussed the consequences of addiction with social media and how our posts can affect our lives. We watched a short film about a girl who posted pictures of every moment of her day on social media, and ended up being a victim of stalking. The video ended with her being attacked at the doorstep of her own house. We watched another video exploring the life of a young woman who posted everything on social media. Her life became dark and depressing and she wasn't happy, though her posts suggested otherwise. When she finally looked in the mirror, she saw the upset person she'd become. Dropping the phone, she turned away from it and headed down the stairs, leaving the phone to lie on the ground. This is a problem as lying about age online can lead to potential risks and dangers.
