I moved to Bethesda the summer before 5th grade began and it was probably the best decision my parents ever made. Between the superior education system and the extremely diverse community, I felt more at home here than Christiansburg.

My favorite movie by far is Titanic (1997). From a young age I was more fascinated by the true story than the film but it's still great to watch. That's not to say that I don't love Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, I just love the actual ship more. If you haven't seen it, 10/10 would recommend.

You already know that I'm Bisexual (it's the only diverse thing about me that I can mention in class) so I'll spare you any more detail. Just know it's obviously an extremely important part of who I am and the experiences I have had because of it have helped shape me into the person I am today. Attached below is a link to the American Institute of Bisexuality which helped me kind of figure out what being Bisexual meant for me going forward. They help to educate and support people and businesses on the Bisexual population.

This is my sister, my dad, and I the day I graduated from High School. The events surrounding my parents' divorce dominated my high school career and I couldn't have made it through without these two wonderful human beings. Today, it is just the three of us, as when I closed the high school chapter of my life, I left my mother with it. I'd argue that we're happier now than we ever would have been had she stayed in our lives.

As a child, I was much shorter than my fellow classmates. This particular picture was taken before I had glasses but being short and having glasses made me the target for a lot of bullying. I was never one to let them see how much they were hurting me but at home I would cry. The one thing I can thank those A**holes for is making me develop a strong personality to compensate for the flaws they made me feel I had. And now I'm a stronger person for it. Also look at that face, who could pick on someone so cute!

I'm a stereotypical white man but not everyone in my family is "White". This is a picture of my grandmother and my uncle taken in 1980. She's an incredible woman not only in her caring and compassion but in her beauty and style. Even today, at age 75, she looks younger than I do. However life has not always been as kind to her as she has been to others. While she appears to be White, she immigrated from Iran in the 1960's. During the late 1970's up until even sometimes today, her middle eastern background makes her a target for racism/anti-Muslin sentiments (she's not even Muslim, people just assume). The events surrounding the the Iran-Hostage Crisis and 9/11 brought anti-Iranian/Middle Eastern thoughts into the minds of Americans which they turned onto her. Regardless of this she persevered because she is an incredibly strong person and a personal hero of mine.
