Technology. Technology has been a key component for safekeeping sensitive data and information. It's much easier to steal items than to just jump into a dumpster or put card readers onto atms and such which involve using cards or passwords. Technology has developed such the big role in modern times. The ways to scam, that evolve into Identity Theft, is improving faster than the security. Now a days, identity theft is a much bigger deal because the increase in cases and the amount lost annual, which adds up to $17 billion and higher since around tens of millions affected by Identity Theft in the U.S. alone.
