I think the quarantine taught us a lot of things and made us have a different perspective of life , as Hamda Al Shamsi the 20 year old that liked going out , but was forced to stay home to be safe . But did she learn something new like other people or not, so lets see what quarantine taught my sister , “during quarantine I’ve done a lot of things I forgot that I can do , like cooking , which was the main thing that distracted me from the world , and the quarantine allowed me to see the world from a different perspective”. I guess free time really makes us think more about things in life .

-Lulwa alshamsi

She just wants to live a peaceful tranquil life. “Having all my family with me at all times makes me very happy”. She is a simple, wise woman, as you can tell from her answers. She has a lot of life experience, which is why I whenever I need advice about anything, she’s the first person I ask.

yousuf alajmi

Abdulla Aljassmi, a 64-year-old man who accomplished a lifetime dream, completely agrees and says: “engineering was a dream to me, and as a young child I always had interests in buildings and designing them. I established in 1983 an engineering consultancy company to design and supervision construction of private and public projects in UAE.” Dreams are the base of our future, and if we didn’t have dreams there wouldn’t be innovations further in life.

Meerah Al-Jassmi

Farzaneh Sarkhosh, a 4th year nursing student at university of Sharjah said: (There was a patient at hospital who had heart arrest, and we had to give him CPR (heart message) so I did, and he came back to life. I’ve learnt that I should always help people with all the skills I have and make myself and others satisfied. I felt so good and so satisfied of myself that I saved someone’s life.) Laian Yahya a sixth grader girl who found her wild and real happiness, agrees and says “I get happy when I spend time with my family in dinner, in morning's of Friday, and in any time we get to be together. Because being around with the most people I love, my family, gives me the best feeling of happiness I could ever have, so I always make sure to gather with them in every possible chance I could have”.

The world isn't perfect, neither is life, but they can teach us how to survive on our own! Mead Al Rahmani is one of the top 10 students who graduated from Higher College Technology and a former employee in Dubai Courts. "Throughout working three years in court, I have learned and heard a lot, and a lot had me questioning where did equality between employees go? Some worked hard to reach the position they always aimed for, while others used connections and money to rise into places that aren't theirs, and so I learned to never listen to those who have done nothing remarkable in their lives tell me what to do, I have learned to dive my way throughout the injustice and take actions so I can stand up on my own!" We will face injustice, and we will go through different emotions, yet we know that we can keep going because, with our hard work, we can build a place for us that no one can reach without tasting failure.
-Hend Al Rahmani

A 53 year old healthy man who maintains his health by playing soccer at least once a week in which soccer is a great form of exercise as there is lots of running for good distances. That man is my father, Emam Hassan. When asked about how his interest in soccer started he said “As a little boy, I always saw my father playing soccer and since he is my role model, I got interested so I tried playing soccer and I really enjoyed it. As I grew older, along with the enjoyment came the exercise necessity to keep my body healthy and away from illnesses. Another inspiration was the adrenaline rush from watching soccer matches on TV” I found his reply to be very interesting how he used soccer as an entertainment as well as a healthy life style. As you watch soccer games who is your favorite team as well as soccer player. “ My favorite player is Zain EL Dein Zidane .He is really good French soccer player . He won the world cup and best player in the world in 1998 . My favorite team is Barcelona because it is a team that plays together as one , since there is no I in a team , from the positioning , passes , and movement ,everything is perfect in this team .

If you organize your life around your passion, you can turn your passion into your story and then turn your story into something bigger---- something that matters. A life without organizing is just a useless one, work gets piled up over and over until it ends up with a huge mess and lots of problems. My brother is a student athlete and says “Life requires organization and especially for a busy person like me, but I can have enough time for both my studies and my athletic career by organizing my time. In fact I also still have time to spend with my family and friends but the secret for this technique is to be punctual and never procrastinate any work because if I did I won’t be able to focus on both school and my athletic career. You can do whatever you want and have time to pursue your dreams, but it only takes one step is to organize your life and give enough time for everything.” Luckily, I have a brother like him who could teach us more about organizing our life because it’s always the key for a perfect one.
-Leen Maanaki

Zena Sabry, a sister to three siblings and is an idol to all of them, who is a pianist and a student in American University Dubai, and she was self-taught the piano from A to Z. The piano is one of the best instruments anyone can ever play as it makes your soul have rest from being stressed and makes you stop overthinking, it might seem hard to play the piano especially if you are learning on your own but in a couple of months it’ll be very easy to play the piano as long as you are capable of reading notes .The piano is capable to make you smile, laugh and even cry if it wants to and it all depends on the wonderful piano tiles. Zena has used many sources such as the internet and specific apps from Apple Store/Google Play which has helped her in an efficient way. amna sabry

I believe that nothing is impossible if you work hard for it and concentrate on it. Mariam Dawood, a 20-year-old student, studying Medicine and Surgery at Gulf Medical University believes that challenging herself is how she achieved what once seemed to be impossible and states: “My main goal from when I was in high school is to enter (medical school) and back at that time it almost seemed impossible to do so because I wasn’t the smartest kid in school and a lot of people doubted my potential and abilities. However, that didn’t stop me from reaching to where I want to be, and my goals, sooner than later, became my reality. There were a variety of obstacles, like my grades, and the question of whether I was ready for medical school or not, as it as a very challenging major. I dedicated my time and energy to focus more in my scientific courses in school and I tried to learn some basics that are required for medical school. I would advise others to stay optimistic, determined, and have the right amount of willpower to achieve what appears to be impossible. If you convince yourself that you can do it, then you will find yourself that you already accomplished it no matter how difficult it seemed at first. With the support of family or even your friends, that will establish a positive atmosphere to work with your goal.” My sister worked hard to accomplish her dreams, and she taught me to be optimistic like her and to keep in mind that anything you want to achieve is never impossible.
MOHAMMED DAWOOD
9-BB

Ahmad Alabed, a 27-year-old Palestinian biomedical engineer living in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, agrees and says, "I have been interested in playing football and gaming since the beginning of my teenage years. I am interested in playing football because it relieves my stress and anxiety, as well as I have always found enjoyment in watching an exciting football match. In addition, I classify myself as an introvert since I prefer staying at a calm environment, such as home, more than going outside. Therefore, interaction with friends, who are from different places around the world, over an engaging game, added more fun and quality to my time spent at home. It also helped me engage in improving several skills, such as concentration and memory, while also making friends at the same time.” Perhaps in his free time, Ahmad should be open to trying new outdoor activities.
Tala Abdulrahman Alabed 9GA

NO PRESSURE ON STUDENTS!!! The schools pressure the students to get high grades which leaves a negative effect on students. Leen Bokr, a student at Ryerson university, Toronto says” grades don’t define a students intelligence, and the pressure that accumulates on students does not encourage better performance.” In my opinion she’s being logical, and she has some good points. Schools and parents should not put too much pressure on students.
