There was three parts to the camp. Auschwitz I, workshops and camp extension, and Auschwitz II Birkenau. Auschwitz I, was a camp where they gave you work so they didn't finish you fast. Birkenau was even more worse then Auschwitz. It was a death camp where they were just waiting to put them in the gas chambers.

How did they survive

There was many ways that they survived. Many worked in the kitchens. Others were put into workshops(jobs) such as Black work meaning carrying big stones back and forth, Tin Shop and roofers. Another way they survived was saving the breads and cigarettes they were given and using them to make trades.

Terrifying aspects of Auschwitz

In my opinion, I think the three most terrifying aspects of Auschwitz is how they give jobs to people they know they can't do, due to their strengths and the gas chambers and how they chose who to die and who to live . For example Anja couldn't hold the can of soup very well and would drop it most of the time, and end up beating her for this. Even though they knew couldn't handle the job. I felt like this is terrifying because she is trying to survive as much as she can but with the amount of food they are given and how she is being treated it would be hard for her to survive.

Continuation of terrifying aspects of Auschwitz

Another terrifying aspect of Auschwitz, is when all the Jew were killed in the gas chambers and the disposal of the remains. Its terrifying how they tricked them into thinking they were going to take a shower with no idea knowing that this will be the last scene they will be seeing. And lastly the way they would get rid of the bodies is terrifying because knowing that they had the guts to watch them burn humans that are not only dead but some that are alive scares me. "After 3-30 min no one remained alive, and they started disposing them." They would burn them in the ovens. Then when they were done with the ones in oven, they would put them in these giant graves, where the dead and the ones that are still alive get poured gasoline all over them and then burned till no one remains.
