Fleminilson (2018) states. “Dolphins and humans have a deep bond that has been written and talked about for thousands of years”. That’s why humans feel so closely connected to marine animals because humans and dolphins are very alike. Physically, dolphins have more in common with people than one might expect. Also, they are mammals, just like us, which means they give birth and they even have belly buttons. Therefore, in this essay you will get to know the similarities with humans in how dolphins sing to their babies in the womb, the structure of their social life and communication skills. Dolphins are mammals, they are warm blooded, child baring animals. Therefore, even though they are in the ocean dolphins Dolphins give birth to their young instead of producing eggs as fish. Around the human world there’s the saying that talking to your womb while baring a child can help the future generation to recognize his or hers mothers voice and you know what? New research has shown that dolphins “sing” to their unborn calves in their womb. They use a “signature whistle” to identify and communicate with one another, much like we use names. In human world the “school” is the basic unit of life but with dolphins is the “pod”. It provides for a cooperative, social way of life and increases the chances of individual survival. The pod uses both acoustic and non-acoustic means of communications. Like humans they either talk or make signs to provide a message. Cooperation and forming alliances are ways in which the more complex mammals attempt to manipulate their social environment. Its just like a regular human being, there is a palpable need of looking for someone in a higher position to progress in life. Other similarity is how pods vary from locations in places with high abundances of food, pods merge, creating superpods of more than 1,000 individuals.
