Red List and IUCN(세계자연보전연맹) have join forces to save endangered animal, Porpoise. Thanks to the resolution adopted officially by Red List and IUCN, Porpoise are now safe from human activities such as over-fishing. The resolution promotes urges neighboring countries to work on five activities:  1. ecological check-up of Porpoise population, distribution, and habitat (상괭이 개체수 추세, 분포, 서식지 조사 등의 생태조사),2.monitoring incidental catch혼획 실태 모니터링), 3. analyzing risk factors other than incidental catch(혼획 외 위해요인 분석), 4.establishing incidental catch reduction plans(혼획 저감 계획 수립), 5. and forming a consultative body between countries(국가간 협의체 구성 ). There is a proverb that says " It takes two to tango."  The world is looking forward to this Lynx saving project since two best NGO, Red List and IUCN are together!

IUCN has a total of 1,156 member institutions and organizations, including national members (87 countries), government agencies (117), non-governmental organizations (919), and affiliated (cooperating) organizations (33), and more than 11,000 experts are active.(As of July 2011


It was established as an international organization in 1948 with the support of the United Nations for the protection of global resources and nature. Currently, it is the world's largest environmental organization that has developed into a coalition of countries, government agencies, and NGOs. It promotes international cooperation for the management of resources and nature and the prevention of extinction of animals and plants, and prepares and distributes nature conservation strategies to member countries to protect the habitats or natural areas of wild animals and plants, or nature that is the subject of academic research.
