         <description><![CDATA[<div>Ice caps are a form of glacier (a thick layer of ice and snow) that is less than 50,000 kilometers squared (~19,000 miles squared). Ice caps are form by precipitation when snow falls and then melts, and becomes compressed. If ice caps gain too much mass then their weight and the gravity of it propel the ice caps downhill along the surface.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>An ice sheet is a mass of glacial ice that covers an area greater than 50,000 km2, ice sheets are larger than ice shelves or large masses of ice covering less than 50,000 km2. Ice sheets are formed in places when snowfalls in the winter and does not entirely melt in the summer. Over thousands of years, layers of snow pile up into larger and thicker masses of ice, getting denser and thicker as the older bottom layers of ice and snow get compressed by the newer layers of ice and snow. The Antarctic Ice Sheet is the largest ice sheet currently today with an area of around 14 million square kilometers, the only ice sheets are in Greenland and Antarctica.</div>]]></description>
