Day 90, It has been 90 days since first joining the team of doctors. This was a really difficult time to not be a little depressed with all the families who were crying because they needed to be sent home. I am examining the patients to see if they have been taken by an illness. The most recurring disease I have seen was probably scarlet fever. I am probably very important to the journey for these aliens. I am still waiting for my family to arrive from their voyage to Ellis Island.

It has been 5 days since they first took me in, I was marked with a red mark. For further inspection, I am being kept at Ellis Island. At least I am not one of them who got sent back to where they came from. They had some sort of eye disease or something wrong with their scalp. I am not sure how much longer I am going to be here. But some of the people got black X marks and they are mental. Its terrible, but I think I have hope. Hope of a new life.

It was a long journey to reach Ellis
Island. Once we arrived I knew this would determine rather or not I could continue my journey. This was a very stressful time knowing that there was a possibility I would stay on Ellis Island or even half to return home. I had put my luggage down and was about to take the six-second test. It was my turn and the doctor started the six-second test and after all that stress I was free to continue. Now it was time for my interview. I had come with little money but I could read and write. I was up next to take the interview but freaked out so I sat down and breathed. Now I was ready I took the interview and passed. It was the most worried I had ever been.
- Lauren. Lately we have been having a lot of storms. It has been very hard for my two kids they have been getting sick and there is only one doctor. I just want to get off this boat and see the Statue of Liberty. Then we can find a home and have a better future. Right now it is night and I am trying to get some sleep but there are to many noisy people. I just want to get off!

I keep wanting to go back but I tell myself that this is best and that I will be with them soon. I was lucky to get in second class but the boat looks like it has sailed 100 years ago and the smell is almost to much to handle! I hear shouts, cries, laughs, but the only thing I can think of is when will we be there.

3 days ago I arrived at Ellis Island, and sought a new life like everyone else. When I arrived and the doctors checked me for anything wrong they found out that I have scarlet fever, and am very ill. So I must remain here for quite some time so that they may be able to treat me. I am worried it may take a while and that I won't be able to get a job and make a home for myself if I remain here any longer. The treatments have been helping and I have started to feel better, though I am worried it may take a turn for the worse. I have to have hope that I will make it and that I will be able to start a life here, and that the voyage here was not for nothing.

It was march 7th, on the cold day. The wind snarled, and the ship rocked back, and fourth. He left me. He left me for what he thinks will be a better way, a better life, a better death. He left despite my cries of despair. Did he not want me any more? I decided to write him something, since its been a year. "Dear Father, Why did you leave me? Mother is dead you know, you were all I had left, But you left me here, with nothing, so you, can go live a better life. I will make it to America one day, and when I do, I will find you. You left me with nothing and no one. You will face the consequences. From, your lovely Son, Welster." He will pay for what he did, this cold winters night might be his last.
