I think we tried a lot of different things this year to get us to interact with each other, especially with those we don't see or interact with regularly. Something has felt slightly off in terms of staff-staff interactions, and I cannot put my finger on what it is, but I'm hoping through the continuation of building strong Crews building wide, we can figure it out and it will take care of itself.

Not having a Crew of my own (a 25-minute block of time), I can only speak to brief conversations I have had in my classrooms. I feel that when I have mentioned things like "Didn't you cover this/that in Crew?" they knew what I was talking about, so I feel like we were making positive steps.

Multiple staff requests have been made to use some of this time with students to support development of tech-literacy skills. Ideas shared include: AI-tools and their use, basics in Word (dbl spacing, font choice, indenting, etc), Powerpoint tools (beyond the basic slide format and typing), citing sources that aren't "google."

Our daily morning meeting at the G is a great foundation for our CREW visions and goals becoming a reality. I would hope that announcements presented at the G are also sent via email to be inclusive for all, regardless of hearing challenges, memory challenges, and absences. I would also hope that the announcements made are worthwhile for the time and place.

CREW can sometimes take backseat to the to the other classes we teach. Similarly, CREW PD can also take a backseat to other important PD we receive.

Also I want to get to a place where students in my CREW are a part of the CREW process and it is less clear who is the leader and who is the learner.

Add more subjects assisted in crew to include skills in which our students show need for growth. For example, we could intentionally teach how to use some of the software our district provides. Students should learn how to use spellcheck and grammer check in Microsoft Word or pick up skills Excel or other areas. I would be willing to develop lessons for once a week, depending on how Crew looks in 25-26.

Our staff meetings have helped build collaboration between staff members. I don't think all staff committed to CREW because not all staff followed the CREW plans.

Instead of using Wayfinder in order, do lessons when they are needed. We pulled bullying lessons when we saw the need for them in 6th grade. Team selecting and developing activities. Also the students felt like it was just something to do. The circle affirmations seemed to go to long and without a purpose.

It is hard to teach some of the topics in Wayfinder without them being authentic to the students. If we incorporate reading, this is a way to develop empathy by the choice of stories selected. Students connected with the taco story. Middle Schoolers are very me oriented. I also think we need more team building activities in CREW.

I know some staff feel the meeting at the G is getting very long so what we do there needs to be short and specific. Maybe going to corners. (Last weekend, if you participated/attended an athletic event go here and share, a concert/music activity, an outdoor activity, and quiet time/indoor activity. Go to a corner if you are feeling stressed, ready to go, tired etc.) and find someone to talk to for a set timer of 2 min. Then we can follow up with that person the next morning if we see a staff member in need.

It is my vision that the "circle up" is the time that staff look forward to each day and it is the community that is cultivated to support and honor our collective commitments.

I would love to see the joy of collaboration and community to spill over into PLC spaces and of course, in the classroom.
