Google Arts and Culture

A way for the students to diversify their learning. They have access to many facts about other cultures and it's a good tool to have students research without having to direct them too much. Great for a social studies or language arts class.

Google Sites

Mock-up website. Students make a portfolio of their work and put it into Google Sites. Students have the different tabs at the top of their different subjects in class, like math, science, social studies, etc. Then, within each tab, they put pictures of their work, essays typed out, etc. The goal is to make an entire portfolio of what they are doing in class. The teacher can then give the parents shared access so that they can see what their child is doing in school. It will be a tool to talk deeper about during parent-teacher conferences as well. This will be beneficial to the students who often misplace their work, don’t take it home, or throw it away.

Nearpod

Nearpod is great for engagement/active learning, immediate feedback, and differentiation. An example of Differentiation in the classroom would be in an English language arts class. The teacher uses Nearpod to present a lesson on figurative language. For students who need additional support, the teacher includes audio recordings of the text, while advanced students can explore additional activities or more challenging questions. This allows the teacher to vary skill levels and learning styles, ensuring all students are appropriately challenged.

GimKit

Gimkit is great for real-time competition, customization/variety, and instant data tracking. For a customization example, the teacher customizes the GimKit game to include multiple types of questions, like true/false, multiple-choice, and fill-in-the-blank for a social studies class. The teacher also uses different game modes such as "Classic" for individual practice and "Team Mode" for group collaboration. This variety keeps the students engaged and allows for different learning styles, ensuring the lesson is both challenging and fun.
