The annual Kahaani show hosted by the Kolkata GC aims to raise awareness about our cause and our NGO partner, Voice of World, who aims to provide education, rehabilitation and shelter to the underprivileged and disabled communities in Kolkata, India. Funds from Kahaani ticket sales go towards Voice of World’s girls shelter home called Pratyasha home, and the education and empowerment of women and children at Voice of Worlds School. 

The theme of this year's show is to show the accomplishments as well as hardships this past year at Voice of World in light of the Amphan cyclone and Covid-19. As we all know COVID has impacted all of us in many ways and through this show, we aim to showcase VOW’s journey and celebrate their resilience.

Brendan here. On behalf of the Investment Society, I would like to announce that come January or February, UWCSEA East will be holding its inaugural Stock Pitch Competition! This will be a competition where teams will advertise a certain financial position in a company to an imaginary client. Teams will have to justify themselves and prepare a presentation that takes into account several factors (E.g. macroeconomic factors, valuation, growth and earnings potential etc.) which support their position. While more details are to come, I highly encourage people interested in economics and the financial world to sign up, as it will not only be an enriching and fun experience, but it will also provide one with the experience of being an equity analyst.
