In terms of information organization, Pocket is the app I found most efficient and easy to use compared to many of the social media tools I have used in this module to date. I found when using the app, that since all the sources are more credible and less axiomatic than google results for articles, or Pinterest posts due to its policy of maintaining all articles so that they are accurate and fact-checked (1), information management, and finding came more naturally than other social media tools I have used. This is especially useful as a digital citizen trying to find out extra information on topics where I may not find readily available, and accessible information, and serves as a medium for information organization and managing of one's preponderance of articles. 

Using Map mashup, I found that the tool was very helpful for managing and sharing data and information, especially as it functioned efficiently as a display medium for numerical survey data (3). The creation process was easy to understand and made presenting, managing, and publishing suitable data effortless. I found that there was limited potential for personal future use of this app, due to the specificity of the type of data presentation but could be used again in the future if the information of that domain were to be needed to be presented. 

 

Using the platform Padlet I found that it allowed for more creativity and possibilities for curation, creating, and managing information, as rather than only being able to present images or articles, Padlet allows the use of multimedia for users when creating their page. This is allowing for more range during the creation process of one's portfolio or project and can also be more engaging with the incorporation of multimedia (Webster, J. and Ho, H., 1997) the information presented can be ameliorated. When I used the app, the outcome was very impactful and effective, and I will use Padlet again in the future when a multimedia project is needed to be created, as its system interface was easy to operate, with no obfuscations. 

When I was using screencasting and YouTube for video creation, editing, and publishing, my how-to video, the potential for personal engagement as a digital citizen for future engagement seemed obvious, with its ability to record one's screens camera, gave me the autonomy to allow me to suffuse edited information I created, using a reliable platform for my publication. As well as this, the creation of informational videos about any field will only require the creator to learn more and understand the information they are dispersing contemporaneously, deepening one's learning, and engagement with a topic as a digital citizen. As well as this, the platform YouTube itself has many advantages over self-publication, as it fairs better in technical simplification, increased audience, discoverability, and analytics.  Our privacy policy for the company Snapchat entails that our company will not monitor users' private messages to provide user data to third-party companies, as users have the right to know who has access to their data, and for what purpose, as stated in the 5Rights. We believe that private messages should be kept private, and the only data we collect should be data we openly disclose is collected. Our company will not have access to Snapchat stories that have been timed out, snaps or messages that have been seen and consequently dissipated, and chats that have purposefully been deleted, as per the 5Rights and our personal philosophy, the right to remove what one puts up is an imperative one.  Our company will only collect and store the relevant data and information that we disclose we already store, information gathered for other means such as political/philosophical beliefs in order to personalize user’s explore page algorithm will not be gathered. 

 

Rational 

 

The reason for not monitoring users' private messages in the policy is due to Snapchat's past lawsuits for taking bio-metric data from users without their consent, which we don’t want to do again The rationale for the last point is that I believe it to be unfair that the Snapchat algorithm adapts itself to show users content it thinks they will react most with  based off of data and information that its user doesn't know the algorithm has access to, so in sticking with the 5rights, to have informed and conscious internet use, knowing that it wants to keep you on it and how to avoid that, if it’s the case that our users don’t know what data we use to adapt the explore section to them in order to retain their attention, then its most ethical to not use this data to do so.
