Very effective when ABC policy is being followed and interventions give students a chance to reflect and take accountability, but can feel very powerless when interventions are requested and do not happen. Impacts teaching going forward, and I feel anxious teaching that student again as I don’t feel supported.

Uniforms not able to participate in practical, theory work only.

Using basic tactics, like standing near them, interrupting them and offering something interesting to focus on, teacher disengage and then repeats from beginning.

Not picking at every single thing - speak to individual students at a better moment if possible rather than draw attention to poor behaviour - celebrate positive behaviour instead

Scenario 9 - restorative conversation. Message to check they are okay, offer support and anything we can do to help in lesson. Keep communication open, try find the root of the problem.

Scenario 10 - conversation to understand disruptions. Possible solution could be a curriculum meeting with yourself present to discuss if issues across board or if root problem is with your lesson then can try work on resolving and supporting.

Seating plan - to keep the students who are working productively together, and spread some of the more impulsively learners around.

Have a 1:1 discussion outside of class to find out more about the learner and their past with the subject, if there is more help they can receive.
