Above: To be higher than something else
poor: to be poor in spirit, to be poor in wealth, to be poor in something
Struggles of the Poor: This also applies to Gatsby himself: he is the struggling poor. 
Silver / Above: This sort of implies that Daisy is on a pedestal - that she is a trophy worth fighting for.

He talks about her this way when she was  young, that she was something he is striving for.

I interpreted the following as Gatsby was aware that money preserves the beauty of the beholder and those around them. Which connects to Daisy's and Tom's relationship, Toms money preserved Daisy's beauty by giving her access to beautiful clothes and things that would allow her to be seen as beautiful ,and through marriage she became imprisoned by Tom's money. which also connects to Gatsby because he was determined to have enough money to impress Daisy while still maintaing his previous beauty. Redolent, or nostalgic, and described in it seems to be a pleasant life and graceful music, almost like a rich paradise. Despite this, this sums up the sadness and suggestiveness in "new tunes." New tunes could mean new situations, new chapters in life that she had to go through that she didn't enjoy. Imagine seeing a sunset on an airplane, but when you descend, it turns into a thunderstorm, but the next hour, a blizzard, then a sandstorm, so on and so forth.
