I guess I would say I've been admiring nature a lot recently and this song in general is just a good listen. Funk rap is a very intriguing genre to me. I tend to like funky music mainly including Indie but Rap is also a favorite. His rap is just this thoughts flowing and has a groove to it. The lyric has a meaning deeper than I realized to reading the lyrics because it has an appreciation for nature and what it bring to life. Construction is a man made thing that destroys nature to create things we desire. We can't forget that nature is something we all need. Marlon Craft the artist, I know nothing about and don't really know much of his other music but this one song has taken my liking with the flow of his beat and style of lyric writing. This kind of music is under rap but I would not put it under the trending rap.

The reason why I chose this as my song today is because I've been confident going into this semester, "I don't even pay to get in the club, they know I'm a walkin' ticket". Also, I thought I was gonna be late to class, so I didn't stop at any lights (as it states in other lines that he wasn't stopping at any lights, only thing is I drive a Chevy Silverado and not a Bently).

I have been listening to this song recently; I like it because the energy is upbeat. It's a fun song that I can listen to no matter what mood I am in. These lyrics that I added relay how someone who truly cares for you wants to see you succeed and help support you along that journey. This song is by Kendrick Lamar and features SZA, who are both very popular music creators. They combine to make a mix of slow and fast beats throughout the song.

These lyrics have been speaking to me more recently from this song as I just left home for college, having already experienced my first semester. During my time back home, I moved back into my old room with my older brother which brough me to think about the old times. When I was in that room, I would race up the stairs from the front door after locking it at night. When I got back in my bed only seconds later, I could see the reflection of the tv in my parents' bedroom through frames on the wall and the mirror in the hallway, "watching tv with them" as I was in bed. As I return to college, I reminisce on these memories and how simple life used to be, missing the easier times.

I picked "The View Between Villages" by Noah Kahan because of the way I feel being back at school. This song really resonates with the feelings I have of living in two different worlds. When I return to school from home or visa versa, it is often hard to adjust to the transition. It speaks to the emotions of the past that going home brings up and how even though it is the same place it feels different. Because I am constantly going back and forth between the two worlds I feel like I am living "between villages."

I chose this song because this is a popular song I play when I need some background music, whether it's doing my homework or driving back home, this is a popular pick of mine. I also enjoy it because it's different than the normal genres I listen to, this one is more electric and indie pop than what I usually listen to. I interpret these lyrics as someone going through heartbreak and talking about it as a betrayal and how they feel alone and helpless without their significant other. The song emphasizes how someone’s words and promises didn’t uphold their actions.

These lyrics from this song say a lot. There are other lyrics in the song that tie into this one line. He is saying that he will give up anything and everything bad for him and the people around him so that he can be with the love of his life. It's a struggle for Loe to give up the things that make him happy and fulfilled for one person. But that's why it hits so hard because he's addicted to so many things but is willing to do a full 180 for this person, and wants to be with them for life. I love the beat for this song, not a lot of rappers can fit this style of beat, but Loe's flow and voice match it perfectly. It takes time getting used to his style of voice and autotune if you've never heard him, but if you analyze what he's saying he actually says some real stuff that hits.

I have chosen this song because it reminds me of home and listening to music with my family. My dad and I both love Chris Stapleton and this is one of our favorite songs. My family and I always share songs to each other that we find or play songs that explain life at that moment. In this certain lyric that I have chosen it is asking the question of where and what you may be listening to in that moment It also says "Memphis blue" which is close to home for me.

Growing Sideways by Noah Kahan has been one of my favorite songs over the last few years. Noah Kahan's use of imagery and the way he articulates his message are both so creative which makes this song interesting as well as enjoyable to listen to. The main message of this song is the way everyone heals differently, there is not one right way to feel. It also describes the author's interesting relationship with therapy. The lyrics “if my engine works perfect on empty, I guess I'll drive” specifically stick out to me because I can relate to them. I rarely check in with myself so I'll think I'm okay when I'm really not. He also emphasizes that “it's better to die numb than feel it all” which indicates that his emotions are too strong to be delt with which is why he ignores them. 

This song speaks to me because it is all about living in the moment and enjoying your youth while you still can. I believe the future is important but not any more than the present. Have fun while you're young and capable! Also, the father is the one speaking to his son in this specific lyric. This stands out to me because my dad is so important in my life and never fails to give me advice. He is constantly reminding me to focus on the now and be less focused on 5 years from now. He reminds me often that one day, I will leave this world behind and that all he hopes for me is that I am proud of the life that I lived. This is very similar to the message of the song.

While these lyrics usually do not speak out to me, they do at this given moment due to the start of the semester. I am taking more hours this semester then I have in the past and most of them are some of the hardest classes I have had. This makes me feel like I am drowning in terms of workload which makes me relate to the lyrics where I know I will have a lot of work for the next few months but I can see the horizon (which is about four months away).

"Blame it on the Boogie" captivates my new mindset in this season of life. I strongly hate the winter, which leads to a negative way of viewing life. I have recently rescued a puppy, and he is living in my tiny dorm right now. This dog has completely distracted me; he is changing my correlation of winter, which is making me more optimistic. So now there is no time for worry and overthinking, instead of wasting time on worry I now blame ever inconvenience on the boogie. i also love Michael Jackson because of his entire vibe; all of his songs just pump me up.

the lyrics of the song Sick Love, what i perceive the lyric meaning as, people can be stronger together, but our view on others can be a prison preventing of what is and what is not, and again "people can tell you what you want to hear" but not taking the time to change and consideration how you actually feel, superheroes refer to people in your life that come and go and representing how nothing is for sure in life, "fame is just a trick" showing that something good can change and hurt, "empty glass" "leave you feeling thirsty" making you feel emotions you may or may not want to feel but you have it anyways.

The reason I chose this song today is because I have a lot of energy and I am in a good mood. This song brings back a lot of childhood memories and it raises my dopamine levels when I hear this song. The lyrics "I wanna scream and shout and let it all out", really connect with me today, because I am in a very good mood today. Sometimes I get so hyper and I wanna scream and shout and let it all out!! This is honestly how I am every day. Just always wanting to scream and shout and let it all out.

Recently I have been listening to “Hold On Tight” by Jesse Barrera and Albert Posis. This has been one of my favorite songs since October of 2024. The song contains a mix of R&B, pop, and Soul elements, making it a calming song with jazzy vibes. The lyrics above that I chose from the song are part of the pre chorus and the beginning of the chorus. They describe the love that someone feels for another and the power of love and commitment in a relationship. It also describes the strong feelings one may feel for another in the beginning of and/ or throughout a relationship. Lyrics such as “I never, ever plan to be away from you” and “Hold on tight to me, to me” describe these strong feelings of love and passion and demonstrate the desire to hold on to those we love.

Today, I have been listening to this song. It reminds me not to worry about things that are outside my control. There are many things to appreciate rather than stress about sadness and pain. The beat is uplifting, and it puts me in a positive mindset. The lyrics remind me to live in the moment instead of dwelling on the things that put me in a bad mood. My mom and I would listen to this song together when she knew I had a bad day or wasn’t in a good mood. These lyrics remind me to save all my worries for a rainy day.

I originally liked the song because of the beat, the vibes, and how it reminded me of when I first heard it when I was little. But listening to the lyrics now, I realize how much I relate to the song in a aspect of the song talking about dying relationship. I think anyone could relate to the feeling of a dying friendship or relationship and feeling like it was your fault (especially now in college). It can be hard when you feel stuck, not knowing what went wrong or how to fix it. Feeling like you can't express yourself but not knowing how to.
