1. I learned from this module that I should be using animation in my power point in order to engage audience during my presentations. I learned how to add animations and also transitions. Having a better perspective of what theme I should be using for my audience will also help me tailor my power point presentations for my audience as well. Being able to use digital presentations with a combination of text and images allows me to express who I am.
2. I did not have any frustration or challenges with the module. I do not believe creating power point presentations will be a problem in the future.
3. I believe I will use the new techniques I learn in this module when creating power point presentation for my class assignments. However for my future Counselor role, I may use the new skills if I become a Guidance Professor. Also if I possibly have a role of a counselor at the high school grade level, I can use the new skills when conducting a group counseling session. I believe it would be beneficial in order to engage the students in the counseling session.

I also had to get creative with the questions to make the quiz "enjoyable".

I didn't have too much struggles or frustrations because the instructions were very straightforward on how to make a Google quiz. The system was easy to work with and all that I needed to make each question was on the side where it was easy to access.

I would definitely use this module in the future for my classroom such as having a vocabulary quiz because the students will be able to access the quiz on their Chromebook. Another perk of this module is that the students and I will be able to get data immediately after the quiz instead of having to correct answers and if they were to do it on paper.

1. It was helpful to go over this module because I learned new skills that I did not know before. For example, I always wanted to learn how to use the speaker notes on a presentation. I learned how to use the speaker notes and how to display it on my screen at the same time I’m presenting. These speaker notes can help to remind me of important points that I want to make. Another skill that I learned was how to publish the presentation to the web. I learned how to share a link of my presentation and how to share it with others by email.
2. A challenge would be that it could be time consuming to create a PowerPoint, especially if you want to add a lot of effects, transitions, and pictures. Another challenge would be to make sure I have enough time to create my PowerPoint that way I will not feel rushed or in a hurry. By having enough time, it will help to have fun while I create my PowerPoint and not feel overwhelmed.
3. I can use this in the future as an educator to present a lesson and create slides that are engaging by putting lots of pictures and making them colorful. I can show students how to create a presentation and show them how to share it with a classmate. This can help for when they have to work on a presentation with a partner.

Stephanie Macias
The new skill learned was how to use animations. I have made many presentations in the past but I was not familiar with all the transitions that were available through Google slides. One question I had was how to find my screenshot on the desktop. I also did not know that i could paste my screenshot onto a new document. I could use this module to guide students in creating a presentation. I recently worked with students who had to create a presentation on Ancient Greek Gods. This module would have been useful to use to help students who have never used Google slides. The module could also benefit students who have used Google slides but need advanced learning on animations and sharing documents.

1. I found this module very helpful as a future teacher. This will be a great resource when creating quizzes for my class. I had used google forms previously but not for creating quizzes. I loved the fact that responses were recorded and the teacher can see class averages for each question as well as the overall quiz. This will be a great tool to help determine what information should be retaught, who is struggling in specific areas, and what information is well absorbed.

2. I did get frustrated with switching from the video and google form and going back and forth and not being able to split the screen. It resulted in some missed steps. I realized later that I could not move forward with certain steps because I had missed one two videos earlier. I was able to find my error and correct myself.
3. I think I would use this module with my students to help them create quizzes with each other. Not only will this help them learn how to develop a new technological skill but it will also allow them to reinforce the knowledge they are learning in class by making quizzes for their peers and checking their own knowledge to make sure they are developing clear questions with clear answers. The module teaches them to use words appropriately and to be aware of how they are expressing themselves. I think it is a great module.

1. The new skills that I have learned in this module consisted of several effective strategies. One of those being to created sub folders within other folders. This allowed to organize for example math notes all together and not mixing them in with test review questions or math homework. Basically what this does is prevent digging for files as much as possible. Which can reduce anxiety because of how organized everything is. Another new skills that I learned in the module was to color code each major file. this makes it easy to identify subjects immediately because it stands outs more than just having all grey files.
2. When it comes to any challenges, questions, or frustrations during this module I fortunately did not have any.
3. My thoughts on how I might use this module in my future role as an educator is having any and all documents completely organized so that I can be as prepared as possible to teach my classroom.

1. In this module I learned how to create a quiz in google forms. I found this very informative as it went over the different types of questions you could have, how to create an answer key, how to add points, and more. When using forms you can click on settings and then go to quizzes and mark that you want to make it a quiz. I also learned how to view responses, which is a great tool because then I can compare and contrast the responses of my students as well make sure all students have completed the quiz.

2. The only challenge I had with this module was trying to think of questions that I could ask, especially for the different types of questions. If i was using this in the classroom, as I was teaching a lesson, I would take notes on which questions I would want to ask my students and the type of question I would want it to be.
3. I would definitely use this in my classroom. It is a great tool to use as a formative or summative assessment to see how our students maybe progressing and understanding throughout a lesson and when a lesson ends. This is great to use in the classroom because it gives a response to you as well as to your students as soon as they are done.

I was not aware the google classroom video was a thing, so seeing the step by step instructions was very informative and helpful to watch. When watching the video he mentioned how this is a great way of setting "expectations" for students. I agree with his comment, however, being a physical education teacher I'm not sure if I would use this in my content area.

(i) Hi Class! I really enjoyed making creating a quiz in the Google Forms. I have never made one before, but I have seen students take quizzes through Google Forms before on their chrome books during class. It was very beneficial for me to learn how to create a quiz following the step by step process. I learned how to create a variety of questions using the multiple tools in Google Forms. These questions include multiple choice, true or false, and a vocabulary quiz. My favorite thing that I learned from this module was the responses tab. The responses tab shows a summary of the scores, the average, median, and range of the scores, as well as shows the each question and how many students answered correctly or incorrectly. (ii) The challenge I had was learning how to move my questions around so that way the quiz questions flowed nicely together. The module did teach me how to eventually do it, but I was trying to do this prior to the module telling me how to do it. I realized that I needed to change the format of my questions as well in order for them to flow nicely together. I did not want my quiz to feel “jumpy”, so I kept questions that fell under the same category together. For example my quiz was on California History & Regions. I kept all the history questions together and all the region questions together. The question that I have is if this form can be used to benefit ELL students? More specifically, is there a function where the questions can be read to the student or a function where the students can verbally say their answer? (iii) I would use this module in my future to quickly assess my students. Ideally, I would have a quiz prior to diving into the unit. I could do the quiz before lunch, then while the students are at lunch I would be able to see the results of the quiz, analyze the results and then determine if I needed to adjust my lesson for that day.

I learned many new tips about Google Sheets like how to format column headers and cells, and what was especially interesting to me, how to implement and use data validation. I think that being able to have data validation, to note the status of a task for example, will make it much easier for me in terms of grading assignments and staying organized, as well as help the students to organize themselves and their own assignments.

I think that overall the module was very easy to follow and provided extremely helpful information. However, it is a little frustrating that the module was created specifically to show a way of using Google Sheets to facilitate a group project, and I would have liked to see examples of other non-group project uses.

I think this module with be useful in my future role as an educator when grading or keeping track of assignments, in my own personal organization such as scheduling or to-do lists, and assigning group projects to my students as a way to keep them accountable and assure that all are participating and getting their work done.

Magen Razo:(The third time is a charm.) I chose to use this module because in every classroom I work in, students are learning how to annotate even as young as Kindergarten. This module was very essay to follow, and I did not experience in major difficulties or challenges. I did learn how to better annotate a text via a technological form. I feel very comfortable annotating with paper and pencil but not too confident through a digital content. However, I am more confident and will definitely use this in my future classroom to perform close reads with a preloaded text for all students to read. We could, as a whole group, collaborate and create an annotations.

Hi everyone!
I thoroughly enjoyed creating a quiz using Google Forms and I feel this module was very beneficial for developing my technological skills as an educator! 1.) I learned several new skills using this technique to create a quiz due to my lack of experience with Forms in the past. First, this module taught me how to construct a complex quiz in a simple way. I learned how to add varying point values to each quiz question and add in several different types of quiz questions such as true/false, drop downs, short answer, and check boxes. Secondly, I learned how to create multiple choice questions that require critical thinking from students answering the questions. Lastly, I found out about a setting that is a data spreadsheet of all potential student answers selected that organized student scores into columns for easy grading. This module activity's video was very helpful and aided me in completing my first quiz immensely. 2.) Overall, creating this quiz did not make me feel frustrated or confused. All of the steps listed in the video helped me answer any questions I encountered along the way. The only thing that was frustrating was coming up with wording for my questions that would offer a full explanation of what is being asked and also choosing answers that would not give away the correct answer automatically. 3.) Obtaining this new skill will help me in my future classroom due to its easy-use tools, simple form, and multiple options for different test questions. I would use Forms to create weekly quizzes on reading assignments for middle school grades to formatively assess my students' understanding of the material we read and engaged in. I really liked how the quizzes can be personally created to help fulfill any topic area. This quiz showed me how simple it will be, in my future teaching aspirations, to create different quizzes for weekly informal assessments to track my students' progress in whatever subject area I want to focus on.

Going through this module I learned skills to enhance annotation on documents. For example, I have never annotated on Google Docs before so I found being able to make comments on certain parts of the article to be an easy and effective way to point out key terms, or make comments on certain points without cluttering the page.

One difficulty I had with the process in general was screenshotting the document. Another frustration I had when annotating the starter project given in the module was that some of the words that were included in the article (Kemari, Pahsaherman, Ki-o-rahi) were not recognized by the define function in Google Docs so I had to search the internet to find the proper definitions.

I think that annotation is an important skill to develop in students. Especially in the field of Social Science where texts can often be complex and students may come across new and unfamiliar words. I thought this module did a good job of explaining how to annotate as well as giving step by step guidelines as to what was expected. I think this module would be beneficial to have students work through at the beginning of a school year so that they had a clear understanding of what was expected of them when annotating a document.

HI class, this is Sam! I decided to do my Tech Task week 2 on the Google Slides module and I really enjoyed it! (i) The new skills that I learned in this module were how to insert animations and transitions on a slide. I knew how to do this with PowerPoint but it has been so long since I had made a presentation that I had no idea how to attempt to do it on google slides. I also learned that I could add a text box on top of an image. I thought my text needed to be below, on top, or to the side of the image. Before this module, I thought that if you wanted to add an image from the internet you needed to open a new tab, search an image, save it, and then insert the image into your presentation…BUT google slides made this process so much easier. All I needed to do was select “insert image” and select “search the web” once I found the image I liked all I needed to do was click on it and hit “insert”. I also learned to change the background of one of my slides to an image on my computer or one that I had found on the web.
(ii) One thing that was hard for me is that I always copy and paste by going to the file drop down menu and selecting “copy” and then selecting “paste” but on google slides It does not let you select file then “paste” you have to do “command-V”.
(iii) If I am being completely honest, after this module I will probably no longer use PowerPoint. I loved Google Slides! One thing that is very appealing to me is that I do not need to save it over and over again, it automatically saves as you go. I also really enjoy that it is automatically saved to my google drive and that I do not need to find a place to save it on my computer. In my future classroom, if my students are new to google slides, I would project this module on the screen and have my students create a google slides presentation while following the module. Since the module would do most of the talking I would walk around and assist students if they needed it. I love the idea of having this module playing on the classroom screen so students do not need to click back and forth from their different tabs.

data validation.

Jill Griffith: I chose annotation because 1) I find it important as a future English teacher and 2) I had no idea now to annotate successfully in Google Docs. It was definitely valuable to see the different methods for identifying important information in an article. Again, there were no frustrations. The lesson was slow and repetitive, but otherwise easy and clear. It would definitely be doable for most teenagers. This tool could be super useful in classrooms. Supposing I assigned an article and wanted an essay written based on that article, students could highlight confusing words, make a definition table, highlight key concepts, underline main ideas etc. This could easily be implemented and would provide important instructor feedback on where a student that is struggling is missing some information and understanding.

On the teacher's end, I thought it was interesting that the teacher could see exactly who has not done the assignment yet and who has already completed the assignment. I also like that the teacher can return the assignment with a comment for all the students. Finally, the private comments are a nice touch so that other students cannot see what the teacher is saying to one student.

Hi class, this is Sam M, I am in the MSCP and want to teach K-2. I really liked how in google classrooms, students can submit their assignment and then unsubmit it. I think this is a great feature because if students want to go back and look at their submission they can click unsubmit and review their answers/posts. I also really enjoyed that on the assignments there is an option for students to post a private comment where only the teacher can view it or the can “add a class comment”. The video mentioned that this feature is up to the teacher but I really like having them both accessible for students. If students know not to just give the answer, I think it would be beneficial for students to help each other out by explaining the assignment to one another. Overall, this video gave me more insight about how google classroom works and some of the many features it has!

Hi everybody,
Hope everybody is having a great week! I am Amber Shortlidge and want to teach elementary school in the future, 1-6th grade. I really enjoyed this video and thought it was very informative. I know I personally plan on using google classroom in my future and we will also be using google classroom in this class, so it was great to learn more about it. The first takeaway I had from this video was that google classroom has a stream, this is great so that students could see what is upcoming in the future. You may have students in your classroom who want to get a head start on their work and this shows them the assignment and what is expected of them. The other takeaway I had was that students could add a private comment or class comment. This is great because if a student needs more explanation they can ask their peers or their teacher. In the video the person said that you could disable the class comment, but I think if students were helpful and if they knew my expectations for the class comments this could be very beneficial for the kids.

Grecia Rivera-Robles: Create A Digital Picture Book

The module Digital Picture Books served as a building block for using Slides in the G Suite. Something new that I learned in this module was the more technical side of Slides. I learned the actual name of functions that I’ve previously used but never minded before. For example, the left hand corner of the screen where the slides are displayed is called the “filmstrip.” It's important to learn this academic language so that in the future I’m able to guide my students without confusing them. We all know that clear and concise instructions are key to effective teaching and learning.

The one challenge I had with the module was the simplicity of the module. In an effort to keep students engaged, I expected the module to cover more interactive tools like transitions or cool effects. For example, if I was creating my own fairytale I’d want to add whimsical music to certain slides to evoke feelings and convey the theme to my students.

In the future, I want to use this module with my students for different classroom activities. In my Reading methods class we learned about the power of shared reading and I think this digital picture books can help with that task. We all materials and curriculum can be expensive and tough to come by (specially in dual language settings) this module gives educators the option of creating our own. This option allows for stories to be personalized so students can better relate. Essentially an elibrary can be built out of these picture books. Additionally, (in a perfect world where everyone has internet/device) when Summer rolls around students can access their ebooks from anywhere!

Going through this particular module I learned several effective new skills. One of those skills is how to apply data validations. I really appreciated learning this skill because I can see myself utilizing this in the future. Another skill I gained from this module that I know I will put to use is being able to freeze the header row. This comes in handy in order to see the header row while scrolling down the sheet. Overall, I can definitely say that there are plenty organization skills that can be applied to make group projects while using google sheets a smooth and enjoyable process. When it came to any challenges, questions, or frustrations I had, I did now have any because of how user friendly google drive is. Lastly, my thoughts on how I will use this module in my future role as an educator is that I will most definitely utilize this to create sheets that will benefit the
organization I desire.

1.) I thought this module would be very beneficial to me as a future teacher because there are so many different presentations and formats to choose from on google slides. I learned several new skills although I have used google slides in the past in other classes as well. First, I learned that there is a button titled "layout" near the theme and transition buttons on the top task bar. I also learned how to create a new google slide by going into my google drive and pressing the slide icon near the bottom where google forms is also available. Additionally, I learned that there is a present mode where I can preview my presentation and see any flaws before finalizing it. 2.) The only frustration that I encountered with this presentation was trying to upload pictures from my downloads tab from my computer. Some of the files were too large I believe and the google slide displayed the message, "Unable to create some images." 3.) I believe that this task was very beneficial to my professional growth as a future teacher. I created an All About Mrs. Bettencourt presentation that I feel will benefit my students in getting to know me and my life on the first day of school. This process allows me to give visuals and explanations of my life and important people that my students may have never known otherwise. I also think that it is important to create this type of presentation to build students' level of comfortability with their teacher. Lastly, this is a great way to present information and visuals simultaneously and could be a great ELD tactic to use for students who need visuals incorporated in lessons for additional support.

It was very informative and I can definitely see how it is beneficial. With this said, I can surely see myself utilizing Google classroom in my future classrooms to optimize students learning experiences. With this said, the more information I receive on the different features Google classrooms makes me excited to put them to use in the future. Something new I learned from this video is that google has a stream. I never knew about this before and think its a great asset so that students have the option to get ahead of work or be mentally prepared to see what is coming next. This also comes in handy to manage time more effectively. Something else I learned about that was new to me was the google comment feature. I enjoyed seeing this because students are constantly looking for feedback or clarification from their teachers or peers. I know that I for one would have appreciated this beneficial feature. Thank you all for your time.

This video also clarified assignment submission/grading. An assignment is not necessarily turned in unless the student clicks submit. Modeling in front of the class would be essential. In the video the sample assignment was creating a selfie card to get students familiar with google class. The second takeaway from the video was the use of the stream. The stream is similar to a twitter feed were the most recent post are at the top. I was confused navigating this system because I didn’t know where to find information.

I really enjoyed this module. I feel that it has taught me a lot of information that I didn’t really know before in terms of writing a resume. For example, whenever I come to the part about skills, I never really know what to put. It has always been the more difficult section for me to complete. This module helped clear up the confusions I had and make the process of creating a resume seem a little bit easier.

I don’t really have any questions or frustrations regarding the module. But it might be helpful to know if this kind of resume template would be okay to use for any job, or if it is necessary to modify a resume depending on the job being applied for.

Writing an actual resume doesn’t seem like something I’ll be implementing in my future classroom very often, but it might be a good idea for a mock project or assignment to have my students complete.

Google Classroom Video-Taylor Webber

1.) The first thing that I thought was interesting about the video was the mentor recommended setting a very strict due date about ten minutes before class ends which I think is a great way to stay proactive and stern on assignment due dates with little flexibility. This tactic made me think of how helpful this would be for students who tend to be lax on submitting assignments on time. Additionally, students will be able to have a helpful reminder in their classroom for their upcoming due dates to help keep them on track. 2.) Secondly, I thought it was interesting that the speaker mentioned you must click the actual class assignment link in order to access the description and directions. This was important for me because it would be a necessary point to make during a teaching lesson about navigating around our Google Classroom. I also thought it was nice that the speaker showed how to have students follow along on their chrome books as the instructor navigates around the online classroom to show where each assignment, directions, and due date are located so they can essentially become independent in doing this on their own in the future.

Jamie Duarte: MSCP Student Teacher
1. Some new skills that I learned throughout this lesson was that there even was a Google drawing section. And within this, I learned how to set up a layout and add information and icons to create a visually appealing and information infographic.
2. A challenge that I found for this lesson was the layout part of it, I found myself constantly tweaking it and having to go back to edit prior things.
3. As an educator I can clearly, concisely, and powerfully communicate information to my students about a subject matter that we are learning about.

I learned how to create a "progress bar" onto a Google Presentation" by coding. I was able to add in a shape and color to monitor progress. A challenge I encompassed was the detail of insert variables into the code because they are very precise. Spaces and capitalization are of importance and therefore, the code will not work if a variable is inserted wrong. Creating a code for progress monitoring was time consuming and haven't thought of any benefits of using it in the classroom but might have more of a purpose for professional meetings.

Stephanie Macias, 6th grade student teacher. The new skill I found when creating a quiz in Google forms was that I can create matching questions, create topics and organize the questions by title. The question that still remains is how to set up the date and time to open up the quiz for students. I also found it frustrating that I could not see the titles I created until I previewed the quiz. I can see myself using Google forms in any class I teach in the future. Google forms has many options of the type of questions to create so it can be used for any age. I can envision the matching working well with K-2 students and the short and long answers being used for 3-6 students. I also like the fact that Google forms can calculate the score depending on the types of questions created.

Stephanie Macias. I plan on teaching K-6 in the future. The first takeaway from this video was that the teacher should express their expectations of the students when using Google Classroom. Students should use classroom appropriately and respectfully. Secondly, teachers should not assume all students know how to navigate and use classroom. With that in mind, teachers should show all their students how to navigate and use classroom before assigning any work.
