The Homo Sapiens Agenda because I feel like throughout the book when you get into his thoughts it seems like you're going a mile a minute with him. I think it relates to Simon in both the lyrics and type of music. Such as when the song says "Searching for answers high and low" I feel like that can relate to Simon because he was constantly trying to figure out who Blue was while emailing him. Also when it says "Questioning things I can't control" I feel as though that relates to Simon because he always seemed to be asking questions, about anything and everything. I feel like this can be connected throughout the lyrics again. Such as when it says "just want to go home" this can relate to Simon's reaction to the conflict when the emails were released and he went to school with everyone knowing he was gay, he felt belittled and embarrassed since some people were bullying him. Also when it says "tired of love" can circle back to Simon because when the emails were leaked, Blue got scared and stopped messaging Simon, and Simon felt like he lost one of the only people he loved in his life. I feel like this can also be seen throughout the lyrics and also the pace of the music. After all the song is about someone requesting someone to stay with them as they grow up into the person they will be (which is essentially the theme). Such as when it says "I think I'm still turning out" relates to Simon a lot because he is still in high school, he is still growing up and trying to figure himself out as a person. Also when the song says "Am I ready for love? Or maybe just a best friend, is there a difference? Do you have instructions?" can also relate to the theme of friendship in the book, because the book is also highly dependent on the factors of friendship. Simon didn't know whether or not he was ready with Blue, but he did depend on his best friends at all times. The setting of Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda is a high school and this song can relate to that because it is about two kids who held a grudge against the popular kids which is generally only in high school (also in the music video it is set in a high school).
