         <description><![CDATA[<div>Cat eyes have six to eight times more rod cells, which are more sensitive to low light, than humans do. <br>In addition, cats' elliptical eye shape and larger corneas and tapetum (a layer of tissue that may reflect light back to the retina) help gather more light as well. <br>The tapetum also shifts the wavelengths of light that cats see, making prey or other objects silhouetted against the night sky more prominent.</div>]]></description>

         <title>How could these cat inspired contact lenses help society?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>One way that these contact lenses could help society, is to enhance the vision of humans at night. This could not only help people like me who just struggle to see at night, but also people in the military, pilots, etc. Did you know that pilots have to pass a night test proving that they can see at clearly night? These contact lenses could open up a whole new world to people who would not have been able to pass the test previously. For military, they could be used during night missions, during flights and so many other things. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>For the first prototype, I drew a contact lens shaped like a cat eye. When I first began researching, how cats were able to see at night, scientists thought that it may be because of the shape of their pupil. So I decided to base the design on the shape.</div>]]></description>

So this time I kept the original prototype and tweaked it, I decided I would add colors that would allow humans to capture the infrared portion of the light spectrum. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>After completing the idea, I decided that it would be unreasonable to have a pupil shaped like a football. This would only limit the vision of humans more. So instead, I changed the shape to more fit the shape of a human eye. This final prototype still includes all of the colors that would allow humans to capture the infrared portion of the light spectrum.</div>]]></description>
