The EC creates elections that don't have a total participation from the electors, meaning that the numbers shown by the ballots don't represent the population at all (since most of them don't feel the need to present their vote)

The electoral college doesn’t work as an effective election system because it was made with other purposes than giving the population a fair way to elect a president. The founding fathers focused on finding a way that would ratify and unite all states of the country, because they were fearing the worst at the time. So the electoral college was founded with roots of leaders who cared more about the democrat and republican conflict than about their citizens’ lives.

When the EC selects a president that wasn't voted by the majority of the population, that results in less vote power to the population and creates overall ineffectiveness.

Since the United States is a democracy, the president should be chosen by the people, but because of the EC, it is not, and that makes people be discoraged when it comes to voting, because their vote will not even be considered.

With the Ellectoral College the US keeps religiously holding on to exactly what the Founding Fathers said and planned, without considering that the country has changed and that some of the especifc mechanisms and criterea the Fathers used do not apply anymore. Therefore, disconsidering that almost everything needs maintenance after some time.

The EC is not a direct way to vote, so is not always that popular vote is actually take in consideration, so it can be the opposite of the population's choice sometimes, and it's also unfair, because of the disproportionate influence between states.

The Electoral College contributes to the US gov't loss of legitimacy because the votes are kind of an injustice. Almost the entire population can want, for example, president 1, but president 2 wins.

The EC diminishes the elections legitimacy because it allows the president to represent the people based on a technicality instead of actual voter counts. Most people can vote for a candidate and still get stuck with the other option. Moreover, it gives different people disproportionally different voting powers, allowing questions on its effectiveness and fairness to surface.

The EC makes the election of the POTUS an indirect way of voting, in which everyone's votes don't weight the same depending on the states they live in. Because of that, many people don't participate in the elections, thinking their vote doesn't count, which is not exactly a lie.

The EC have an unequal voting power, that happens because of the proportion of people and electoral votes each states has. Such as actually not having the power of choosing our own president since the EC "corrupt" those votes (the people vote) witch at the end will not even be considered

The Electoral college undermines the vision of a legitimate and effective government since this political scenario is not reliable. This policy does not represent the desire of most people, since many people can vote for a certain candidate and in the end get a different candidate. In addition, the place where you live determinate the power of your vote, which sometimes can have no power.
