Trevor Noah’s born a crime tells the experience of a young boy born in South Africa during Apartheid and Trevor Noah was born to a black mom and a white dad which was a crime during then. The story was interesting and easy to understand and was quite different from Trevor Noah’s usual stories as a comedian. I enjoyed it a lot and would definitely recommend it as a must read. It helps shine a light on the issues of racial segregation and shows that it was and is still a big thing abroad.

“The queen of nothing” by Holly Black is a great book, it has all the action, romance, and details a person needs in a book. “The queen of nothing” is about Carden and Jude trying to get through their personal problems so they can figure out what they are to each other. While they are trying to figure that out, they are also trying to go against trickery and lies. There will be a lot of backstabbing and you will learn so many shocking things that you might not have suspected. When you read this book it makes you feel like you are in a harry potter world mixed with lord of the rings. This is a really great book to keep you engaged the whole time.

I am listening to the Red pyramid. Overall I really enjoyed the story foreshadowing was used well through out the story and was almost like a quite background music that if you listened to you would be able to catch a glimpse into the future. Book also had some fun plot twists that I don’t want to spoil. Overall I really enjoyed the book and would highly recommend reading it.

My thoughts after reading Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is that it’s a very good book and it has some action to keep you entertained so it’s not just a romance. It’s a mix between realistic fiction and romance. This book is a long book with 496 pages and this will take a while to get through for most people. The book itself had very good details about each person so you know what each character looks like. It describes everything very good, and I would recommend reading this book if you like vampire romance. After the first book you really get hooked with reading the whole series after that.

-Izzy Woodman

To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee was a book about racial injustice in a 1930s Alabama town. The story was told by a young girl named Scout who witnessed her lawyer father defend a negro falsely accused of raping a white women. Even though the book was fiction it tells the real prejudice that happens in the Southern states of America. The book was published in 1960, and it was the start of civil rights movement. I would recommend the novel, which relates to the history of America.

I really enjoyed this book. At first I was pretty confused due to the story being told through a number of years and flashbacks but I ended up getting it the longer I read. You follow the main character during several trips to her family’s private island. She’s been in an accident which at the end of the book you find out isn’t what you originally think. The relationships in this book I also find interesting especially because many of the characters actions and personalities change throughout time. Overall i thought this was a great book.
Olivia Heizer

I really, really enjoyed this book. I'm a sucker for a "discovering your true potential" story and interesting tension between best friends. I also love found family stories and those are all included. I can't wait to read the rest of the series. It was a simple and easy read which made it fun to rip through. I love the avatar tv series on Netflix so getting to follow another avatar was really cool.

I feel like I've said this for every book I've read but I really enjoyed this. As a lesbian I always try to find sapphic love stories but I really hit the jack pot with this book. I loved the intersection between sexual orientation, religion, race, and culture. The characters were beautifully written and realistic. I especially liked the relationship between the main character, Nishat, and her little sister, Priti. I thought it was entertaining and loving while also being realistic.

I read and watched a girl interrupted by Susanna Kaysen. The book was pretty good but overall I enjoyed the movie more. Normally I enjoy the book more because you can go into deeper detail and this allows you to get your message or theme across better. However, with this story I think that the movie was the better written story and allowed the emotions of the story to come across better.

I found this book very captivating but also hard to read. It shows how easy it would be to fall into a dystopian world where women have no rights. It was especially hard because of what's happening on the supreme court right now. However I really enjoyed it, it was eye opening and motivating.
