In 1985, the famous beverage company Coca-Cola celebrated its 100th anniversary and changed its brand from “Coca-Cola” to “Coke”.

She was not satisfied with that and also decided to change her secret recipe for her soft drinks, which had been the basis of her fame for 100 years, after extensive experiments on which large budgets were spent to ensure the new taste and flavour. The drinks were better than the traditional flavour.

The result: a lot of severe criticism from consumers of Coca-Cola products due to consumers' association with the traditional name "Coca-Cola" and consumers' dislike of the new taste of Coca-Cola. The company received about 400,000 complaints in record time, and its market share declined rapidly. .

After nearly three months, the company completely retracted this wrong decision, in response to the desire of consumers, and all new cans of Cola were withdrawn from the market.

Microsoft: 12 agencies and universities in Texas exposed to Russian hacking

Microsoft has reported more than a dozen state agencies and public universities in Texas that state-sponsored Russian hackers had access to emails between them and the software giant.

The hackers managed to access the communications through a Microsoft systems hack, unveiled in January, stealing emails from some of the company’s executives. Agencies that Microsoft has warned of being vulnerable to attack include the Texas Departments of Transportation and Vehicles, the State Manpower Committee, its General Land Office, and its Securities Board, according to a person familiar with who asked not to be identified because he is not authorized to discuss the matter.

Does Russia have a hand in the attack?

Microsoft has been blamed for the attack on a hacking group called Midnight Blizzard, which is linked to Russia’s intelligence services.

The state and Microsoft are still studying the impact of the hack. Steve Bear, an official at the Texas cybersecurity agency, admitted on Friday that government emails were being hacked, but said so far they were apparently just routine administrative communications.

News of Texas agencies being affected by Microsoft’s hack raises concerns that a U.S. adversaries may have access to sensitive information about employees, financial matters, or critical infrastructure in one of the nation’s most populous and economically important states.

“To be clear, the state of Texas has not been hacked but Microsoft, including some emails in the state,” Pierre, of the Texas Department of Information Resources, said in a statement. He said his administration first heard about hack exposures from Microsoft last week and is still assessing the number of entities affected.

Microsoft declined to identify customers who received notifications of the attack. “We will continue to coordinate with, support and assist our customers in taking action to mitigate the impact of the incident,” a company spokesperson said on Friday.
