Let’s get our eTwinning project started! In January, we will get to know each other. Let's start by telling our project partners what the Baltic Sea means to us. We all project partners come from countries which are located around the Baltic Sea. We can say that we are all members of the Baltic Sea Community.

Make a post in which you tell who you are and from which school, and describe your own relationship with the Baltic Sea. What does the Baltic Sea mean to you?

Our school is an upper secondary school on an island in the Gulf of Finland. I teach biology, geography, and environmental studies and have always been interested in our special sea, although I come from further north, from continental Finland. I am particularly interested in environmental issues and conservation of the Baltic Sea. That is why I often teach about the Baltic Sea: its special features, species, environmental concerns, and so on. Because we are located quite close to the sea, about 300 meters away, we are able to arrange field trips and different activities like plogging and volley ball games on the beach during the Baltic Sea Day!

I like to hang out with my friends and reading.

I live far from the sea but I like to go there on holidays with my family.

I like to listen music, read books and hang out with my friends. I don't have any pets, but i usually take care of my cousin's dog, a beautiful border collie.

I don't feel a conexion with the sea, because the sea ir about 500km, and i only go on hollyday. But i thing that is importsnt to take care about It, because is important to the sea creatures and for us

I'm fifteen years old and i play icehockey.

The Baltic Sea is connected to my life in such a way that i go swim and And go by ship to other countries.

I go too at clubs. They are here: a cooking club, gym club and a ball club.

A Baltic Sea is between at a Swedish and Finland. I don't know enything at Baltic Sea, but I know a fish at there. Maybe. If I remember...

My hobbies are: playing soccer and spending time with my family and friends.

Knowing millions of people do things to save and preserve the Baltic Sea and the ocean clean. Because the ocean it’s like 70% of the Earth and it’s very important to keep it safe for the sake of the world and it’s people

I feel that Baltic Sea is part of my home because I live in Helsinki <3

Our school is part of UNESCO BSP school's network, so we learn about Baltic Sea and try to do our best to help our small but dear sea.

The Baltic sea is not that big part of my life, but i still love the vibe that comes from the sea and i wish that i could spend more time by the sea.

However, I love going there, swimming and tanning.

Unfortunately, in the place where I live there is none, but every summer I go to the seaside with my friends or family !

Unlickly this lake is very polluted and also the level of the water is diminished during years and now my school does nothing for resolve this problems. Only the local governament try to resolve this problems but them failed very much and now the situation of the lake , but I think that it will become a swamp if we don't resolve this, remain the same.

Also if I live in a place in which there aren't seas I think that the change of the lake can influence your life because:

1) the biodiversity of this place will disappear

2) the local food, that is very good and in particular the fish, will diminish very much

3) there will be no more fresh water that people can use for their activities

4) the water inside it will disappear very quickly very sono and the lake will simply disappear

Because of this I think that my school should do more like, for example, organize projects in which students can reduce the pollution of the lake, teach to people that their lifes and the life of the lake are connected and that them must waste less can them can because it can influence in negative the all environment

I love going to the sea with my friends in order to go swimming and to sunbath, but also because I feel much better.

I would like to protect our seas but it is not easy as it could seem: not everyone likes protecting the environment so people tend to throw away the rubbish in the sea.

However, sea should be respected since it’s an essential part of our life and our happiness.

I love to go on a walk at the sea which is not very far from my home.

The Baltic Sea has an important task to protect and Restore marine and freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity, prevent and eliminate pollution of our ocean, seas, and waters, and make the Blue Economy sustainable, carbon neutral, and circular. That is why we need to keep it safe.

An Italian's connection to the Baltic Sea is usually distant, but visiting it may spark admiration for its cool climate, scenic coastlines, and concern about pollution affecting its unique environment.

Before moving to Orivesi last year, I've always lived close to the Baltic Sea – in Helsinki and Kotka. I love the sea. It reminds me of swimming in the summer and ice skating when it's cold and freezing in the winter.

my relationship with sea is pretty close, because every summer i go to the sea with my grandparents for 3 months and i’m really interested and part of the protection of the sea, because i think that the pollution it’s the worst part of all the sea and we have to preserve them.

My name is Ada. Im from Finland and I live in a city called Pori. Im an second grade high schooler. I have connection to the baltic sea in a few ways. Our family has a summer cottage next to the sea and thats why it is important to me. I also love to do different water activities such as paddle boarding and swimming. Beacuse of that I think it is important to keep it clean and nice for us and for the future generation.

Water is our lifes support pillar, we drink water every day, we see water every day, we feel water every day. Water is source of our enviroment.

I’m attending the fifth year in the linguistic high school in Perugia.

I’m not linked to the Baltic Sea, but in general I like the sea. Every time I go to the sea is it’s special and it means it’s holiday, because in Perugia is in Umbria, the only region which don’t have the sea.

My name is Aili, I’m from Finland, Orivesi. Even though Orivesi is located away from the coast, the Baltic Sea plays a meaningful role in my everyday-life. In our city we have many lakes that are connected to the sea and I enjoy spending time at the lake: I swim and relax on the beach. When I am at the coast, the sound of the sea is like music to my ears. Also animals in general have a place in my heart - so also sea animals are important to me!! 🐬🐳🐟🐠🪼

My heart belongs to the ocean and its magnificent creatures—dolphins, whales, and orcas. These beings are not only incredible to observe, but they also embody the beauty and mystery of the sea.

It breaks my heart to see them suffer because of our negligence and pollution. Our oceans are in peril, and the impacts of our actions are felt deeply by the life within them.

We must do better for the sake of our oceans and the incredible life within them. Their survival depends on our choices, and I believe we can make a difference together.
