Chasing Lincoln's Killer by James L. Swanson

As someone who isn't usually interested in history, it impressed me how this book kept me on the edge of my feet throughout the entire journey. Swanson made the story of Abraham Lincoln's assassination interesting to a middle/high school audience, which isn't always easy.

I can safely say that I could reread this series a hundred times and never be bored of it. This is my third time reading The first book in The Hunger Games since the last time I did in 5th grade and I thoroughly enjoyed the story as well as the nostalgia it held for me.

I've only listened to a few audiobooks before and this was a great experience! I watch Tyler Oakley on Youtube which made the fact that he was reading the book to me even cooler. He has an enthusiastic and interesting voice that keeps you listening and wanting more. I enjoyed learning more about the wild life of Tyler Oakley.

Rumble by Ellen Hopkins

If I could use one word to describe this book it would be "Wow". Hopkins' style of writing in short poem-like sentences keeps you captivated and even those with a short attention span will keep their thoughts inside the world of Matt Turner. Many deep topics like suicide, homosexuality, and religion are big components of the story.

Even though I had to read this for the book project in social studies, I am so glad that I read this. It gave me insight into what it was like to be a slave in the early days of America and the truth of just how badly they were treated. The first half of the book is a bit boring and then everything falls into pieces and changes the whole story.

If you like forbidden romance then this is the book for you. Her dad had an affair with his mom but she doesn't know that. The anticipation build up to the end of this amazing story keeps you interested the whole time. I personally am a sucker for romance novels but get tired of the old cheesy stuff eventually. This book was a creative breath of fresh air.

After viewing the movie that as based on the book, I was very curious to see what the differences would be between the two. I came to find that while the two are the same story, they put forward two very different feelings for the audience. The movie feels like a story between some ragtag group of rebellious teenagers but the book is much different. A much more personal account is what is shown in the book and you can definitely see the true feelings of the character that didn't necessarily come through in the film. Overall, Charlie's story is one I would definitely recommend.
