By having a balance of approaches (tradition & constructivist) that create meaningful learning experiences that are appropriate for learners. 
By carefully considering the planning (and resources) that we use to teach. It is important to integrate subjects to allow students to understand a holistic way of learning and being able to connect learning areas with life/world experiences. It is important to have intentional and well-thought learning intentions which provides guidance for students' learning. Lastly having a biblical foundation that is integrated by your teaching and planning to help students build morals and values.

One way I beleiev we can do this  is by making the learning personal to our students by drawing on their own expereinces and intrests so that they feel motviated to learn. Knowing your students, allowing them to be motivated to learn, and know when to take more lead. Integration seems to be really beneficial for allowing the students to see the connections and importance of their learning. Topics that are relevant in your classes' culture context.

It must be hard to plan when you might not know some of the cultures that are coming into your class (as Van Brumelen's reading suggested to plan roughly for the year). I'm wondering how to effectively plan enough to let the learning move freely, but not feel overwhelmed with lack of preparation.
